oh this is easy!

Mitt all the way....he's clearly the most knowledgeable and intelligent of them all. He was right on Illegal immigration, taxes and even admitted he was wrong about abortion.

Ron Paul said that we should give the Iraqi people their country back. I would like the next President to take a stand to give us our country back, to bring our military personel home to protect us and to respect the bill of rights that is also meant to protect us. If we had our rights, we could protect ourselves from anyone who dared threaten us here at home. I think Ron Paul is the person on stage tonight who best understands how liberty works.

I am incredibly disappointed, especially considering the way this debate was portrayed in the advertising. The internet poll above: terrible. The "people-meter": meaningless, annoying and terrible (there is a reason for scientific polling). Once again, we were subjected to a display of Romney and Guiliani, with some McCain and Huckabee thrown in for balance. When will Americans get to know the positions of Tancredo, Hunter, and Paul? Certainly not from the obviously biased coverage of CNN. Hell, Ron Paul's video never even saw the light of airtime. Paul also was accused of living in a fantasy, and never even got to respond! CNN has now fallen in to the debauched heap of propaganda passing for news that Fox belongs to. And that is a sorry state to be in.

I totally agree with Jeremiah Duke. It was totally biased and all CNN focused on was Guliani and Romney. Paul is the obvious answer to all the problems in this country and the only real true "Republican"...

The "mainstream media" will not let the American public know about what Ron Paul stands for. It's sad and it makes me realize that CNN is no better than Fox (Faux) News.

Don't believe all of the propaganda these spin stations are paid to spew out. Read up on the facts, figure out the truth.

The truth can never be told to you, you only can realize it.

Vote for Ron Paul in 2008

Mitt Romney did great again in the debate. He will make a fantastic President. He is by far the smartest guy we've had run in a very long time. Go Mitt!!!!

I used to like Mitt but he flip flops more than John Kerry did.

After tonight I'm sending my donations to support Ron Paul. He was not given the opportunity to answer very many questions and that led me to believe that CNN wanted Rudy, Fred and Mike to be center stage....but after listening to the three stooges I felt so violated...yuck.

When Ron Paul was given the chance to speak, he spoke like a true leader....I know, I know, we Americans aren't used to that but sometimes change is good!

America we need a leader not a puppet and it looks to me like Ron Paul is the only one up there that can think for himself.

I never knew about Ron Paul until tonight but he seems to be the only REAL candidate. I have to research his political views but he truly knows what he was talking about. The others seemed too rehearsed.

He needs to get his own views. Sooooootransparent!

Sherry, Krista, Maniac Man - either you are the same person posting with multiple names or you have your neighbors over...

be a man (or woman) and tell us why Ron Paul...and, come to think of it....we are told that Ron has millions of followers online; but I am thinking that number is in the thousands instead since you all post to different blogs using multiple usernames.

hahaha.

Hello. This is my first time ever posting on this site. I have been a long time supporter (well, that is, since I knew he was running for president, so not all that long), of Ron Paul. It astonishes me that when people see such huge support for a person who they would not have expected to have support, they blatantly deny that it even exists. Just because Ron Paul is "radical" (not what the founding fathers would say, but in our screwed up system he is radical), does not mean that people do not support him. Just because the puppet media does not want to cover him does not mean the American people do not support him. lately a company researched the biggest search on search engines. Guess what it turned out to be? RON PAUL. Ron Paul is less known by the bulk of America, but that is because the bulk of America is a mass which only sees what is SHOWN TO THEM. They do not venture outside of what is thrown in their faces by mainstream media or think for themselves. If more people did their own discovering of their own ideals and practices instead of being fed what to believe by someone else more people would know about him. Still a quite encouraging amount of people do know of him and more importantly support him because he speaks for FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ron paul said something recently that was almost identical to a quote of Benjamin Franklin's. Ron paul said that if we sacrifice liberty for security we will have NEITHER! Franklin had the same wisdom. He said that those who sacrifice liberty for security will neither get it nor DESERVE it. Ron paul is the only intelligent, logical choice. It is up to the American people to think for themselves! We don't need the government to rule over us with an iron rod and feed us with their bent spoon.

Incredible that, when a candidate stands up that promises to bring America back to the morals she was founded on shows up, the media attempts to blind the public to that candidate. Why? Because these candidates go directly against the media's agenda. What really disappoints me is that this blog appears to be buying the media's crap. If you look at any media poll, it will show that Rudy is out on front. If you take a poll on any non-media site it will show Ron Paul is ahead by leaps and bounds. Why? Because the media is fixing the results to sway public opinion.

Ron Paul followers are not a "cult". We just want to take America back. Give America back to the people. Get rid of huge government that can't keep its nose out of other country's problems!

Ron Paul '08!

Oh... and Urban Conservative... try thinking for yourself. It's amazing what you find out when you stop blindly following the nightly news...

Dear UC,
Up front I support Ron Paul. I don't feel he did well last night. Given the questions offered him I can understand for the most part. At one point I wanted to yell KURDS! when he was trying to come up with the name of the group in Northern Iraq. Now, who one? It was a wash to me. Huckabee by the slightest of margins? The truth is the whole thing was unbalanced in the favor of Romney ("I need to consult with other people before i can answer that") and Guiliani ("911!!!"). Still going to vote for Paul though. I don't care for the other options to this point. Thanks

UC,
Thanks. I went to a RP meeting locally and could see how some of his supporters could be labeled..."off center"... to be nice. Some seemed straight out of x-files as far as conspiracy theories are concerned. If possible could someone, unbiased, explain the idea of the CFR and the International highway from mexico to Canada? Is there a source online?

Romney dominated the first half, but struggled in the second half, as everyone was gunning for him. Understandable, because he is the biggest threat right now. Rudy was an embarrassment, and showed desperation when attacking Romney baselessly, and looked foolish when Romney had the last word on immigration. McCain appeared angry. I get that he's a patriot; I got it the first debate. It's time for him to express authority on an issue OTHER than defense. Huckabee was witty, but none of his answers were substantive. Why? Because he has no substance on policy. He connected so well on an emotional level that I'd feel confortable picking him if I were looking for a counselor or therapist or even spiritual leader of some sort, but not president. He does not appear to exhibit the strength of leadership that conveys he'd ably protect, strategize, lead or create. And I'm certainly not looking for a comedian who can deliver one-liners. Thompson was sleeping, as usual. Hunter was forgettable. Tancredo was the kid brother that didn't belong. He was definitely out of his league. And Ron Paul...no comment.

While I appreciated the more serious tone of this debate to the Dems' lovefest in July, I couldn't help but notice a few things:

1) CNN selected questions that sought to tease out every detail of grey areas as they pertained to each candidate. Cooper's questions had the exact same agenda. This was a boardroom compared to the playground the Dems were bickering on. They were blatant in their attempt to carry out a hachet job on the GOP. Would Cooper have really grilled Hillary Clinton the same way he did Romney multiple times? Hardly. Don't even get me going on the plants...

2) Romney had the toughest questions of the night. I get why the candidates were gunning for him, but it appeared Cooper tried really hard to get him. It would be difficult to perform any better than he did under the circumstances: hostile territory, main target of competitors, main target of moderator.

3) Romney's answer on the torture question was precisely the answer we needed. This man already sees himself as president. At the risk of appearing too "political", and in the interest of our security, he had the foresight to do the right thing, which was declining to express exactly what methods he would condone. Why let the enemy know what you're thinking?

All in all, a spirited night.

As Americans, we do not understand the middle east psyche. I had heard that the al quaida insurgents were helping the shiites stop smoking by cutting off the two smoking fingers, and that is what turned the al Sader militia around to our side. I think we need to keep people guessing about what is discipline, interrogation and torture. We need to customize our procedures for the target audience. I think Mitt said the right thing. Surprise them.

I didn't see that question, unfortunately. I'm sure I can watch it on youtube now, but it seems to me that Mitt Romney was dodging the question offered to him. He didn't want to make a committment. If he says it's wrong to use torture as an interrogation method, people might say "but how will we get the information?". If he says that he would do it, he may be looked at as inhumane and unchristian. to me, interrogation methods that include torture are just wrong. They are done to people who may not even have the information we want, who may not even be involved in secret plans, and those who have not been tried in a court of law!

When I think about who I would trust most as president to make decisions both for America's progression, and in times of crisis, no other man comes in my minds eye, than MITT ROMNEY. Amazing man, he'll be one of the greatest presidents in the history of our nation.

These sites are very hard to discern exactly what is reality. I saw a site that had 9 out of 10 saying Fred Thompson won. It was on the yahoo financial site. Here you'd think Ron Paul, who is the only candidate who actually gets booed regularly, had won. I thought, for the first time, Thompson actually looked the best. He is the only one who actually tells you exactly what he will do, and they are the tough answers other politians are affraid to give for fear of loosing one vote.
