I Was Against the Surge, before I Was For the Surge

November 30th, 2007 Urban Conservative

Yes indeed; it was once said that it must be a cold day in hell. Once again, liberal scum John Murtha has changed his position about the recent surge in Iraq. With all do respect to the former Marine; because I also served 8 years in the Corps — how can anyone be proud to be a democrat with this type of leadership in office. This idiot even tried to stop the surge back in February.

John Murtha

“There is no way the surge will work.” John Murtha, March 2007
“I think the surge is working.” John Murtha, November, 2007

Here is the actual video where Murtha tells CNN that he dismisses the progress in Iraq is “rhetoric”; and that it’s not getting better. It’s an illusion.

First of all Trent Lott isn't gay. Second, Larry Craig should resign -- not because he is gay, but because he is flat-out lying hypocrite.

Matt, when it serves someone to be angry about one point they should be angry about it, but when it does not serve them, they should forget it and act like it doesn't exist.

Come on, thats like conservative rhetoric 101.

It's easy to call someone a hypocrite when you understand them so well because you are one.

Sen. Murtha is a shame to the proud Marines who have served and died in Iraq. He should be ashamed to say that he was a Marine. I think he has been brainwashed by his association with all those left wing anti war liberals.

Urban Conservative,

I thought you were a decently respectable guy, although I disagreed with your positions, until now.

This post and the responses piss me off so much, that I can not stand to not reply, even thought this post is old.

I dont care, sir, if you disagree with his positions or find him to be a complete nut in the head. but to agree with such a terrible, disrespectful comment as this

"Sen. Murtha is a shame to the proud Marines who have served and died in Iraq. He should be ashamed to say that he was a Marine. I think he has been brainwashed by his association with all those left wing anti war liberals."

totally brings you down in my book. He is EVERY FUCKING BIT as patriotic as you, if not more. Instead of bringing his ideas to some internet blog, he actually has done something with them, become a public servant. He works in the public sector, trying to make this country a better place. And sir, I respect your right to disagree with him, but I will not stand by and let you denigrate his service to his country. I disagree with the war, but on my way back from Texas, I sat with a soldier who had fought in Iraq. I thanked him for his service, not even mentioning that I disagree with the "cause" he is fighting for. Patriotic Americans can disagree with a war. Pat Tillman, who gave his life fighting in Afghanistan, and who was murdered by our government, was against the war. He is one of the most patriotic citizens the country has ever had.

Seriously man, go ahead and disagree, but you, as a former Marine should know, that he is as patriotic as any citizen.

Learn some respect.
