And this years Academy Award goes to Hillary Clinton

January 7th, 2008 Urban Conservative

Academy AwardThe scene looked like a clip taken directly from 1983 tear jerker, Terms of Endearment. There she was…Hillary sitting at a table in Cafe Espresso in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with 16 undecided voters, mostly women and gently taking questions. She seemed very calm and sincere. Then came the question; one that she wasn’t expecting (or perhaps she was). I mean, she does have a habit of planting her peeps at random events equipping them with predetermined questions.

“My question is very personal, how do you do it?” asked a woman sitting in the way back. She mentioned Clinton’s hair and appearance always looking stunning. “How do you, how do you keep upbeat and so wonderful?” Wonderful?

Her voice breaking with what looked like to be tears in her eyes, she responded, “You know, this is very personal for me. It’s not just political it’s not just public. I see what’s happening, and we have to reverse it.”

After the event, one woman told ABC that she was glad Clinton showed emotion. Another woman said that she - like most of the woman in the group - had been considering Obama; but after seeing Clinton become emotional, she said she was going to vote for Hillary.

Nice strategy.

But then again, maybe those tears weren’t just Visine drops before the meeting. Perhaps, she found out that she didn’t get any love whatsoever when the first votes were counted in New Hampshire primary. Not a good start, Hillary.

And then of course, the Hillary we all know and love was back on the attack; first with Diana Sawyer where she stated that “Edwards and Obama were given a free ride“. And then, she went on to attack Obama – “You are NO JFK or MLKâ€?. Great actress, but a very poor loser.

Here is the video. Enjoy, and don’t forget to grab some tissue.

I like Hillary.
I do not like it when people try to hurt her with garbage.
Many even try to dig up dirt.
If you want real dirt, then read what I wrote about the Republican Party.
It is more than dirt, because it is all true.
Read this:

The Republican Party is a sick joke, and the people of this country are fed up with them.
From Nixon to Bush, and from Scooter to Larry "Toilet Stall" Craig, the Republicans have proven themselves to be a bunch of lying, corrupt, evil, perverted, over-spending crooks.
When you look at all the money Bill Clinton left this country, it makes us all cry to know that Bush spent it all.
When the money was gone, Bush went to China for help.
Just think, we owe money to China!
That is the Bush way.
Cheney is no better.
You can't trust either of them.
No one does.
Why are we in Iraq?
The war should be on terror, not in Iraq.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and yet Bush has spent all that money to fight "his" war.
Yes his, because many Republicans have backed off from the war.
By the way, the war in Iraq has cost the U.S. almost five hundred billion dollars.
Forget Rudy.
Rudy Giuliani is no hero.
While he is often called the hero of 9/11, the truth is that Rudy was a terrible leader during his years as mayor of New York City.
He made bad decisions and took a girlfriend while being married.
In fact, he even wanted his lover to live in the same house with his wife.
Most people would call this perverted.
New Yorkers were so sick of his antics, that they wanted him out of office.
Then came 9/11.
The only reason people call Giuliani a hero today, is because he just happened to be NYC's mayor during that bad time.
Any mayor would be looked at as a hero if they showed their face under those circumstances.
If there was no 9/11, Rudy would have become a joke.
This is not the kind of leader we want in the White House. In closing, the New York Post reported in their paper on April 23, that Giuliani spent more than $48,000 dollars of campaign money on posh hotels while claiming to have spent the least of all the Republican candidates.
Rudy is a good time leader, and does it with other people's money.
Forget Mitt.
His ads look bad.
He can't seem to get his facts right, and will say things to make himself look good.
Red flags go up around him.
I spoke with his son Tagg at the New Hampshire debates back in June (2007), and while he seemed like a nice man, Tagg could not get his facts right either.
The worst Republican as of late, though, is Larry Craig.
He is a lying pervert who wanted gay sex with a strange man on a dirty toilet seat.
He pled guilty, then said he was not guilty.
Say what?
He is another Republican moron.
Did you hear about Washington State Republican Rep. Richard Curtis?
He offered $1,000 to a young man for unprotected sex while dressed in women's lingerie.
This sort of thing just goes on and on with them.
Remember Mark Foley?
Here is a letter I wrote that was in many newspapers and Web sites:

Once again, the Republicans have turned my stomach with shocking and repulsive behavior.
Mark Foley, a Republican member (now ex-member) of Congress, has sent many e-mails with perverted sexual content to a sixteen year old boy.
This is the same man who while in Congress, backed a bill that was meant to protect children from child predators.
Foley himself, is a man who preyed on a child with lust.
What is also incomprehensible, is the fact that some Republicans knew of Foley’s behavior, and yet, did not take a hard stand against this until it became public news. If I had a teenage son and/or daughter, I would not want them to go near any Republican leader for fear of either or both becoming a victim of a sick Republican pervert.

George Vreeland Hill

There were more than three hundred such letters in newspapers in 2007 alone.
Many of them in New Hampshire.
There are thousands on the Internet.
No lie.
THOUSANDS!
This does not even include articles, ads, radio, TV and other areas where the public takes notice.
In fact, one Republican in California wanted me stopped once, because I was hurting some Republicans in their elections.
I just want to do my part in helping to get rid of every Republican scumbag.
From phone scams to the Union Leader (NH) covering up for Republicans, the garbage never ends.
But the Republican Party will end.
Did you know that George W. Bush once made fun of the issue of Weapons of Mass Destruction?
He did, and in front of some shocked people during a black-tie event in 2004.
He said.... (While looking under a piece of furniture) "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be here somewhere."
Then, while pretending to look out of a window, Bush laughed as he said..... "Nope, no weapons over there."
While he was laughing, there were men and women fighting and dying in Iraq because of WMD.
George W. Bush should be removed from office because of that alone.
Face it, Bill Clinton lied about having sex, and was impeached because of it.
George W. Bush however, did far worse, as he laughed at the very people who are fighting for the United States of America!
That about sums it all up!
(By the way, this Bush/WMD was part of an article and letter I wrote as well.)
This leads us to John McCain.
All he seems to do is attack other candidates.
His Woodstock ad against Hillary Clinton was boring and without the facts.
He tells of Hillary wanting to spend a million dollars on a museum while he (McCain) supports spending more on the war in Iraq.
He wants you to believe that the Democrats are the big spenders, while it is McCain's Republican Party that has spent all the money Bill Clinton left us to a point where Bush had to borrow money from China.
Think about that again.
We owe to China.
That is the Republican way.
Also, it must be noted that McCain even laughed at war.
Remember when McCain changed the words of a Beach Boys song to Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran?
McCain even laughed when he was done.
He thought starting a war with Iran was a laughing matter.
That is the real John McCain.
He just can't be trusted.
He is another George Bush, and you know what we got with him.
The Republican Party is a mess, and getting worse.
People do not trust any of them, and we are all tired of their act.
I am doing my best to make sure that no Republican wins an election.
Thank you for your time.

Glenn Beck was hilarious this morning playing sound bytes... Right after Hillary said "I don't want this country to fall back (into socialism, yeah, that's real progress into the future!)" there was this metallic DING sound, they deduced that she is a cyborg and must have just touched her leg or something. Women should not be running for President. It's shameful.

What is that a Haiku poem? Look, I breifly glanced at your novel above and notice it's the same garbage that they write about over at Daily Kos. Get your own analysis!

@ Valeriepublican

Glenn is quite the man. He is totally funny...and completely right (no pun) about Hillary. Did you know Glenn is mormon?

Yes I know he is a Mormon. I think it's funny, just like I think every religion is funny in that whole "we love following rules about God because we'd rather not think for ourselves" kind of way. Don't start bitching at me- I know that religions help people find hope in times of despair-- just like AA, NA, etc. It makes me see fire, though, when someone is so self-righteous that they refuse to look at the other side of the picture, insisting they're right because the bible/the big book says so. Reality is gonna pistol whip those people one day. There is no room for judgment from anyone but God.

I found this fantastic quote from Gandhi: "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

A very close friend of the family died on 12/21 just 10 days before his 17th birthday. The cause was cancer. We're all devastated-- and I know that in times like this, God becomes a very necessary person to talk about because when life becomes empty and dark we need something with light to help us through it. Without God, we become miserable hopeless people, believing we don't have souls, believing there is no afterlife. I don't believe in heaven and hell anymore, but this boy's parents do and I started thinking that maybe heaven is a place for us to heal before we embark on our next journey. Maybe heaven is where part of your soul resides, waiting for your loved ones to arrive, who the hell really knows? Nobody, so shut up.

So many people probably think I am crazy for saying that, just like I think they're crazy for thinking that to get to God you have to go through Jesus. But I don't preach to people. I believe what helps me through the day, always offering help to those who seem to be struggling. <3

@ Valeriepublican

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; without having to worry about getting a body part dismembered – at least here in the US. That's what makes this country great. There are self-righteous people in every religion. I have even met self-righteous atheists and agnostics. It's just a way of life.

Maybe it’s just me, but based on many of your comments, you seem to have a genuine irritation with Christianity. Why is that?

Put VERY simply- several years of bad experiences.

I used to have a lot of animosity towards Catholics, thanks to like 100 years of CCD and boring ass church services every Sunday, but they at least seemed like people who do things out of tradition and won't bother telling you how to live your life. Christians are more like "Hi I have a huge smile on my face and I seem super nice and I'm gonna tell you how I think you should live! No Jesus No God! Everyone is going to hell for everything that isn't boring and innocent and sheltered from the world! Hooray!" I know they're not all like that- not even half. The wacko ones trip me out, though. I don't think they realize how much they push people away.

I'm just bitter about it all. I was forced to say things I didn't believe. I got suspended 23 times from my Evangelical high school for rebelling against things that didn't seem to make sense. I wasn't intentionally doing it, I just didn't really FEEL it, and I'm not an insincere person. But that wasn't acceptable.

And the whole "animals don't have souls" thing will forever piss me off. Ugh. I was such a good liberal, lol.

Valeriepublican - you need to take a trip to the middle east and or eastern Africa. You may have a new perception of Christians when you compare to other religions. The fact is that Christians in those regions are persecuted all the time (killed, beheaded, breasts cut off so they can't feed their newborns). Don't let your bad experiences influence your view of everyone else who believes Jesus is Christ.

@ George Vreeland Hill & Valeriepublican

I know the moderator doesn't want this site to turn into a religious blog, but I have to ask both of you what you "believe"? Besides a lot of ranting and raving about why your political party is better than the other, I don't see anything that is going to help our country come together. Let's face it, both parties have contributed greatly to the problems our country face today. And both sides have had their fair share of moral failures. Is it possible that neither of you really believe in anything, and are only interested in gaining power for your party? And that you probably don't even know why? Is there a "truth" in your life that you use to develop your value system? And what is truth? How do you know it is truth? Both of you have denied the existence of God. You must believe that we evolved from some single-cell amoeba that existed billions of years ago. There is much evidence to prove that God exists, yet you choose to believe a lie. If (since) God exists, then truth and wisdom MUST come only from Him. Without "truth", we are wasting our time attempting to solve our problems on our own. Each indivdual believes that his way is the right way. Can we agree that this hasn't solved our problems? I know you don't want to hear this, but God said it. "The FEAR of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom". Until you fear (know) God, you will never acquire wisdom. And without wisdom, we will never solve our problems. He said "If you seek Me, you will find me". God bless you as you "seek the truth". Now, what values are we going to trust to make the right decisions regarding this election?

I just think Hillary is a big phony. Trying to play up with her sympathies. If she can't handle the heat, then she needs to get out of the kitchen. If she can't handle the campaign, how can we expect her to handle the pressure of being president?

What will happen when the North Koreans, Chinese, or Iranians pressure her? What happens when Congress starts to push her around? Will she cave in and start to cry because they have all ganged up on her? Give me a break!!!

It appears that the pressure to perform is starting to get to her and her real side is beginning to show. Because she has flip flopped with so many groups and special interests, she doesn't seem to have a real position any ANY issue, which has hurt her. Voters want a candidate who is grounded and doesn't cave in to every special interest or group they talk to. Add to that no real experience. She talks about Obama having no political experience, well she needs to look in the mirror herself.

My goodness, there is so much hatred coming from your side. I know there must be some good and honest people in your audience that really want to know the truth, but so far it appears that you've been brainwashed by the right's propaganda. First of all accept the fact that Hillary cried and it worked. I would not have done that (thinking that it would backfire), but it was a successful tactic on her part in that she won NH. Most people that run for office do strange and even evil things to get elected.

Case in point: the smear campaign called The Swiftboat Vets in their attack on Kerry in the last election. You'd expect that these good Americans would have been honest in their attacks against Kerry, but Wikipedia has the facts on their record: They lied about ever serving with Kerry to really know who he is or what he did. There is also evidence that these people had ties to the Republican campaign to re-elect Bush. That smear tactic in my opinion is so much more diabolical then Hillary's crying.

As a young mother, I am so disillusioned with prospective candidates pretending they are on the side of truth and justice. The Right needs to look in the mirror. And for you Christians out there, do you honestly believe that Jesus would want anything, but affordable comprehensive healthcare for everyone.

I do not know who I'm voting for. But I know the Ronald Reagan party that I grew up loving and supporting is not the same. When he spoke of God most people did not get offended. Now when the Right talks about God people get offended. Not because they don't believe in God, but because your God's personality traits are those of a stuffed shirt business man.

I'm going democrat all the way, baby. And I just may vote for Hillary just because you hate her so much.

Be careful voting for Hillary-- statistically it demonstrates a lack of education and an empty bank account (i.e. stupid and poor). I'd like to add fat to that, because if you're poor there's an 80% chance that you're lazy, and lazy people get really nasty and flabby while sitting around feeling sorry for themselves.

But it's cool- your girl will fix it for you. Free lipo to anyone who votes for me! Hooray! lol women and their ideas.

Your statistics (which probably came from the Right propagandists) in my case do not apply to me because I am thin, a college graduate and you will never guess what my career is.
Come on guess.
I'm proud to be a Hospice nurse. That's right America I take of your dying-making sure you leave this planet comfortably as you fade away. I treat all my clients the same, be it that your a Republican, Democrat, male or female, black or white. I know first hand both the advances and the shortcomings of our healthcare system. So let this be a lesson to you all. Before you judge (before you vote) get the facts straight.

Hillary. Yeah, she can sure pull off a good acting job. Was it on purpose to invoke people's sympathy? Kind of makes me wonder. She was doing poorly, so she or her staff had to come up with some sort of ploy to boost her popularity. Are you sure that the woman asking the question wasn't planted or told to ask a certain question so to invoke a supossed sympathetic/human/down-to-earth Hillary who would then be seen as a real person instead of the cold hearted b&%@+ that she really is. Yup, P.T. Barnum was right. "There's a sucker born every minute." and they are the Democratic voters of N.H.
