I am sure most liberals outside of San Francisco have not heard of Nancy Pelosi. She is a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 8th district and most recently became the Speaker of the House when the dems took control Congress. Seems like we have another flip flopping, EXTREME liberal on our hands:

Back in 2002, Nancy Pelosi said in a press conference, We must stand together in a bipartisan way to fight the war against terrorism. Of course, when Clinton was in office, she supported military actions that resulted in major civilian deaths in Haiti, Kosovo, and Bosnia, yet she has publicly denounced both wars in Iraq. Pelosi has also opposed President Bush on most issues relating to Homeland Security. What’s even scarier is that she recently joined the ACLU’s crusade to limit the powers of the Patriot Act.

Pelosi’s voting record is insane. She has voted against school vouchers (which would allow for low-income families to send their children to private schools - on grounds that some of those schools teach religion). She voted “YES” on funding for alternative sentencing instead of more prisons; voted “YES” on replacing the death penalty with life imprisonment; and sought to place a moratorium on the death penalty altogether. It’s clear from her voting record that Nancy Pelosi’s world view is so out of whack that she makes Ted Kennedy look like a conservative. God help us, we are in big trouble.
