Black Female Obama Voter will not vote for him again

July 29th, 2009 Ryan Christy

It seems that President Obama will have to invite another cop – this time a black, female cop – to the White House for some adult beverages with Gates and Crowley on Thursday. Heck, perhaps he even want to appoint her as one of his czars. The woman who voted for Obama and now saying never again is Kelly King, also a Cambridge police officer. Here’s the black woman cop, saying never again to Obama, on CNN:

CNN’s Don Lemon: When you heard about what happened with this sergeant, what did you think?

Kelly King: I was appalled. I know Jimmy. I have known him for more than 11 years with the Cambridge police. I knew him when he worked for Harvard. I know him to be a good police officer, a good man with character, and I knew these charges were bogus. There has been a tremendous rush to judgment. And I think the thing to be learned first and foremost from this is to look at all of the evidence, to consider all, to weigh all. I think Professor Gates has done a very good job of filling up a very effective smoke screen calling race into this. It had nothing to do with it.

LEMON: Well, what about the president?

KING: Its unfortunate. I supported him; I voted for him; I will not again. I agree that I think its admirable that he would speak on behalf of his friend, but he should have recused himself. He should have stepped back and he should have said, I support my friend but I dont have all the facts. I wont weigh in yet.

LEMON: The governor?

KING: I would apply the same to him.

LEMON: What do you want the people around the country to know who may have already made up their minds about Sergeant Crowley?

KING: Keep their minds open and realize that we would not support someone that we felt wronged someone else. We took this job to do the right thing. We all took this job to do the right thing. We would not support anyone in blue doing the wrong thing.

Too many people are focused on this still and not enough on the fact that the dems are now praising fidel castro. Where do we go next. Racism every ethnic group has it but comunism that is user specific....

You guys seem desparate. I can find several whites, Blacks, Asian, Hispanic people that dpo support your President.

Get over it and stop supporting people who are against your interest. (-_ -)

yeah and how stupid do they look to those of us who actually have common sense! LOL!
  • aliy
Hey, Anti Aliy, You are correct about one thing, I have no sympathy for Gates and his obnoxious behavior. And yeah, you should ALWAYS treat the police with respect.

If they are there because a neighbor called in a break in you should appreciate they are there because if it WASNT you in that house they could have just saved your crap from being stolen.
  • Aliy
Amber, I should add that on the numerous occasions when I have been arrested, I have always been courteous to the officers and therefore have no sympathy for Gates and his obnoxious behavior.  Speaking from personal experience, if you treat the police with respect they will reciprocate, even when you are being detained on felony charges.

If anyone is interested in the healtcare debate, and would like to read a great free book, follow this link and you can download it.  I read it today, and it brilliantly explains the arguement against government healthcare, but even better has solutions to help fix what is actually broken.

Amber, Seriously? You think the way this was handeled was "brilliant" youre giving the guy props for calling cops (and keep in mind, when he made the comment, he generalized it) stupid and racist.

He brought them to the white house for a beer so they could "agree to disagree"!!! The police man did his JOB. Every other police force in the country is saying he did NOTHING wrong. Obama should have appoligized, Gates should have appoligized!!! No one on the WRONG side of this even remotley accepting responsibility for things said! Obama and Gates never bothered saying sorry for the hurtful things they said. To Crowley, to police forces everywhere, and to an entire RACE if you really want to get technical.

Youre off your rocker if you think calling the police "racist" and "stupid" was brilliant.

    Good post, Bo!
  • Bo Louis Helms III
I think this has been handled brilliantly by Obama.

Falsely accusing the police of racial profiling would be considered "brilliant" by a drooling airhead who is named after fossil tree resin.

As always, Obama has proven himself to be unqualified to lead this nation.

And as always, his supporters have proven that they received insufficient oxygen at birth.

I think this has been handled brilliantly by Obama. Minorities and cops dont like each other, and the subject is almost impossible to broach. This event has started a dialog, the specifics of who is right or wrong are almost irrelevant. The important thing is to get the two sides talking and creating a mood that is conducive to reconciliation. nice work Obama!

it was racism and everyone knows it.  White cops, black man. Cmon it happens all over the place. The US is still a racist nation.

That would explain the albino in the Oval Office.

God, I hate you race-baiting left wing turds.

None of this beer summit thing would have happened if Obama had not of stepped into it.  Yes, I believe in making mistakes with language while communicating, but there is such a thing as apologies immediately.  Obama is a typical liberal, just like a caged animal, when you back them in a corner with the goods, they do something different to free themselves from that corner.  Obama was just trying to protect his own skin.  Short of a real apology.  He could care less about the cop.  I dont really know about the professor.  But you have to take one thing into account, BHO is a liberal politician out of Chicago.  The moffia crew he grew up with in politics would knock off their own mother to save their own skin.  So, you gotta say - "After he stepped into it, the main thing out of it all was to clear his own name".

I think what people dont understand is that everyone says
things the wrong way. Its just that when the President does
it, the consequences are amplified by a million. Wouldnt it
be nice if we could solve more problems like this though?

The TMZ-esque media attention spent on this non-story/escalated-to-a-political-train-wreck soap opera has worn out its welcome. After the hoopla faded away following Michael Jacksons media circus funeral, it was as though there was a rift in the "MSM space-time continuum." And then, as if Obama was answering an MSM prayer, we had the most race-biting, ill-informed, nation-dividing observation made to date on national TV by a sitting president. And the stupidest of all catch-terms was created: "Gates-gate." Gag.

With ObamaCare nearly dead, Cash for Clunkers nearly dead, Waxman-Markey global warming tax-Americans-to-the-poor-house bill dying (but well on its way to a deserved death with the growing tea party movement), and the Senate recess imminent, maybe we take a breath for a bit before attending any "meet the constituents" gatherings of congressional folk to let them know how we feel about, oh, everything not supported by the Constitution. And then, if time permits, we can "ooh, aah" over AP photos of First Dog Bo playing fetch at Marthas Vineyard while POTUS and FLOTUS take the girls on a divine vay-cay away from the sweating, huddled masses of DC.

Yeah, I live for Rasmussen these days. The minus-double-digit approval numbers help my sense of humor and blood pressure.
  • Aliy
    New Poll numbers:

    28% strongly approve
    40% strongly DISapprove

    Thats a -12!!

You do know that Bush left office with a 22 approval rating. 28s not that far away and it took Bush 8 years to get there!

Barrack Obama bit off more than he could chew between health insurance reform, racism, outragous spending, people are staring to go "Wait, this isnt the CHANGE I voted for!"
  • Aliy
William, dont you understand, we ALL get that that is the case, but unless Obama and the liberals recognize and appoligize for it, its ALWAYS going to be an issue.

Let me ask you, do you think black men are just letting go of Mark Furman? He never said he was sorry for being a racist. Why is it OK for them to hold a gruge against someone like Mark Furman (and dont get me wrong, hes a totally racist too) and we have to just let it go when Obama does it?

It would be GREAT if race wasnt an issue but this time it was Obama who made it an issue and I dont think beer fest is going to make people forget what hurtful comments were made. And his throwing tax payer money at the problem (in the guise of a $1 billion dollar stimulus) is going to make everyone forget our president is a racist either.
  • billyLevine
Cops are not immune to racism but this was never a racial incident until Gates made it one. That Obama is fanning the flames is no surprise. Not to me, anyway. I am surpised that he didnt invite Al Sharpton. But it is over and done with and the media doesnt need any help with the hype.

Gates is the instigator in this incident and Crowley did exactly what he was trained to do. Case fucking closed...or do we want to dissect this thing ad nauseum until it becomes a racial issue on these pages.
  • conservative cowboy
JakieM I totally agree with you Marcus is an idiot, all the other good points where already made just thought Id throw that in again.
  • DS
If Gates isnt reprimanded "publicly" by Obama for his actions, then this will be more proof that Obama is a racist, and is trying to stir up racial and social discontent among the people in order to keep his agenda going!  Racists dont come in any particular color, race, or creed!  ANYONE can be a racist, even though a lot of black people dont want to admit it.  Obama is acting like a racist, and he promised to bring everyone together!  Another failed promise....or was it a lie?
  • aliy
Heres the bottom line. The police come to the door and ask what youre doing there, it would behoove you to produce an ID with your picture, name AND ADDRESS on it.

Gates not only was screaming at the police officer saying things about his mama (who by the way should have been GRATEFUL they responded to a break in at his house to begin with) he produced a HARVARD Id that read "faculty" NO address on it. And the police officer was really cool and called in the Harvard police to confirm this guy actually lived there.

I think by the time Gates went to jail there were people from the neighborhood on the street, multipul police forces there. This wasnt one rogue police officer, it was a rogue professor who saw an opportunity. He talks to his class about how the police are racist, I think he was TRYING to provoke this. How can you then go back to class and tell them "yeah, the cops were cool" It goes against EVERYTHING this guy teaches.
  • JackieM
Leslie H--i agree with you and i will add that it is the racists themselves that are trying to cause trouble by lying.  obama is only adding to left wing nut mentality!
  • Leslie H.
I am so sick of this story.  First of all the other cops (who are NOT white) say the situation was handled properly.  Second, in an upscale predominately white neighborhood isnt refreshing that a controversial black professor had the police respond to a possible break in just as quickly as if the house belonged to a white man? If it was an actual burglar throwing a fit and the police let him go wed be hearing all about how the cops didnt care about protecting a black mans property.  Lastly, doesnt the President have more important things to do?  Someone is always fighting with the police, or their neighbor, or their coworkers.  Since when does the President of the United States need to make it a "teaching experience?"  He should just stay out of it, Obama is the main reason why this issue has blown up we certainly dont need him to teach us a lesson about it.
  • JackieM
Marcus--you are an idiot.  if the police officer was a racist, he would not have tried to save a black mans life and given him mouth-to-mouth.  from what i gather this guy also teaches classes on the subject and his own colleagues who are both black and white have vouched that he is not a racist.  so keep on dreaming up shit!  by the way, the idiot gates is bringing a lawyer to this beer party.  what does that say?  you are a moron!
  • marcus

Im glad this is coming to light and there are police officers supporting the correct thing. Not the color of skin but the correct thing. I give props to anyone who actually treats equality with equality, no matter the color of your skin, correct is correct.
