(Were Quickly Becoming) A Nation of Idiots

August 24th, 2009 Billy Hallowell

Michael Jackson died and the media cried. But dont worry; they were tears of joy, not despair. After all, what better time to sacrifice journalistic integrity for the sake of high ratings and bloated ad revenues?

In the weeks following Jacksons death, the level and scope of coverage was and continues to be mind-numbing. Sure, MJs death was tragic, but tragedy doesnt warrant the widespread disengagement of American media outlets, nor does it permit the dumbing down of pertinent information. To borrow from John Ziegler, the obsessive coverage of Michael Jacksons death is yet another glaring symptom of the malpractice that is all too common amongst todays media elite.

Its no surprise that CNN and others are jumping on the bandwagon. Jacksons collapse and subsequent death fueled increased viewership and network interest.  According to CNN co-founder Reese Schonfeld:

Jacksons death brought all sorts of new viewers to the cable news networks, and it’s obvious that most of them turned to CNN. CNN is still seen, by most people who are not news junkies, as the place to turn to for news they really care about.

Schonfeld went on to say the following:

“It’s unfortunate that the news they seem to care about is the death of an entertainer, no matter how great, when there are things happening in the world that will affect them and their children much more significantly.”

So, Schonfeld is hypocritically rejoicing over increased ratings while his network abandons world events to cover the life of a man who has had and will continue to have little viable impact on society. He’s basically saying, “How tragic that people care about such irrelevant information, but hey – our ratings are through the roof!”

Railing against citizen love for the unimportant, while praising the effect such coverage has over CNN’s bankroll is nonsensical (from a journalistic perspective, at least). And this is only one example. CNN surely isn’t the only network at fault, as plenty of others have joined in and reneged on their responsibility to the American people.

In their classic spirit when dollar signs come into focus, the media abandon reporting the news that actually affects Americans in order to capitalize on the revenues they can expect from their self-perpetuated campaigns, with “All Michael Jackson, All the Time” being the most recent narcissistic example.  Frankly, it’s embarrassing and fraudulent. The Fourth Estate has become the court gesture – and that’s being kind.

But, it’s not only the media who are at fault. U.S. citizens – led by members of my own generation – have continued to fuel the fire. Eric Holder was way off base when he called Americans a “nation of cowards.” What he should have called us was a nation of idiots (please note the sarcasm here, as I’d rather watch MSNBC than give Holder’s comment credence — and that’s saying something).

Many young Americans are so blind to the domestic and international issues that will surely impact their world, that they’d rather fawn over a pop legend they never knew, than confront the important issues that directly impact their lives.  Why expend the energy needed to understand the difference between a deficit and the national debt when you can watch the mainstream media slobber over the advertising revenues they receive from exploiting the death of a former super star? It’s shameful.

CNN and other related outlets should have the nerve to report real news, as should the American people crave the information that will lead to greater transparency and personal betterment. Here are some events we missed out on during the MJ hooplah:

  • Vice-president Joe “Gaffetastic” Biden said, “”We misread how bad the economy was,” a statement that should have sent the globe spinning. Instead, it quickly faded as the media contemplated which doctor should be blamed for MJ’s death.
  • Calls for a second stimulus began to surface (although anyone who was paying attention to Obama’s budget would have noticed billions budgeted for another potential “stimulus” back in April).
  • After the unprecedented connection that was established between Americans and Iranians, the media essentially abandoned the Iranian election story as Iranians continued to fight and protest in the streets of Tehran.
  • The media showed wreathes and memorials set for MJ, while American soldiers sacrificing their lives overseas went unnoticed. After all, how would the American people know of their sacrifices without a media body committed to relaying such pertinent information? Lt. Brian Bradshaw died the same day as MJ and his aunt had this to say in response to the media’s outlandish coverage: “Mr. Jackson received days of wall-to-wall coverage in the media. Where was the coverage of my nephew or the other soldiers who died that week?” Good question.

Beyond my complaining, it is important to note that the media have a responsibility to serve as a check on our government. Each outlet is intended to add value and context to the democratic process. Whether it be inherent political bias or the abandoning of real news for elevated ratings, the media are continuously abandoning the American people. The only question that remains: Is there any turning back?

Dora you genius, you have convinced me to switch to MsN(othing)B(ut)C(owards), or possibly CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC?

They are truly unbiased, with no predetermined agenda, nor did they contribute in any way to the victory of your Messiah, racist Socialist candidate.

How could we all be this foolish, and Dora this intelligent. My word, thank God for Dora, she has saved us and this nation from Democracy, and the horrors of the right.

We can now all follow the path of the Chicago politico gangster theme and the left wing agenda of Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan, Jackson, Sharpton, Van Jones, the list of patriotic Socialist, Communist is simple endless.

Thank you again Dora, please inform us immediately on how we may rid this country of Fox, so that we may then have a true Totalitarian state and march again to the theme of Mother Soviet Russia.

    Faux News

In recent days, a war of words has erupted between Fox News and the White House. It began last week when White House communications director Anita Dunn told Time magazine, "[Fox News] is opinion journalism masquerading as news." Last weekend, she told CNN, "Fox News operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party." This set off a blustering reaction from Fox, whose senior vice president Michael Clemente responded, "Its astounding the White House cannot distinguish between news and opinion programming. It seems self-serving on their part." Fox News host Glenn Beck went further, comparing the White House effort to call out Fox Newss partisanship to Richard Nixons attacks on the press and compiling of an enemies list. The truth is, Fox engages in practices that a legitimate news network would never do, regularly promoting GOP talking points and misinforming its audience on key policy debates.

A GOP TALKING POINTS MACHINE: While Fox infamously maintains that it is "fair and balanced," the fact is that the network often does little more than shovel out Republican Party talking points. For example, its "news" anchors regularly parrot the "where are the jobs?" mantra of the GOP. In July, House Republicans, one after another, took to the floor to engage in political theater by repeatedly asking that question. Numerous Fox hosts, especially Americas Newsroom co-host Bill Hemmer, have echoed that talking point time and time again, failing to mention that they borrowed it from the GOP. Another example of the network aligning itself directly with the Republican agenda was its endless promotion of the conservative "tea party" demonstrations. The network even went as far as to "[provide] attendance and organizing information" for the right-wing demonstrations -- hardly the behavior of an objective network. As Comedy Centrals Jon Stewart recently pointed out, the network gave wall-to-wall coverage of the anti-tax, anti-government demonstrations, yet completely ignored a similarly-sized demonstration in favor of gay rights. Indeed, Fox News chief executive Roger Ailes has proudly boasted that his network aiming to be "the voice of opposition."

A NETWORK OF DISINFORMATION: Fox repeatedly deceives its audience. A 2003 study found that 80 percent of those who primarily relied on Fox News believed falsehoods about why the U.S. invaded Iraq. In June 2007, the Project for Excellence in Journalism found that Fox covered the war less than CNN and MSNBC, and yet, its anchors now claim the network was "very faithful about covering all the bad news that came out of Iraq." A poll conducted last August found that 72 percent of self-identified Fox News viewers believe the false claim that health reform will provide insurance to undocumented immigrants, 79 percent believe it will use taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions (it wont), and 75 percent believe that it will allow the government to put the elderly to death. This isnt to say that the network always misinforms people. In a recent exchange with Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), Fox host Shepard Smith rightly corrected the senator and disproved his own networks talking point that a public option would mean a "government takeover" of the entire health care system. As Smith pointed out, the public option is simply a government-run health insurance plan that people can choose. This left the Barrasso flummoxed and clearly surprised that a Fox anchor would ever challenge Republican disinformation.

A HYPOCRITICAL NETWORK: While Fox claims to be outraged over the White House pointing out that certain news networks are blatantly partisan, the fact is that it was singing a different tune under the Bush administration. In May 2008, White House counselor Ed Gillespie sent a scathing public letter to NBC News President Steve Capus, claiming that the network was guilty of deceptive editing and blurring the lines between the "news" and "opinion," a charge not unlike the one the Obama White House has leveled against Fox News. Rather than attacking the White House for calling out the press as it is doing now, Foxs hosts supported the Bush White House. Fox contributor Laura Ingraham even went as far as to say, "Why would the White House agree to do an interview with [NBC correspondent] Richard Engel?...I mean, why really bother at this point?" Then-Fox host E.D. Hill heartily agreed, "NBC News basically panders to the left and is, in essence, in the pocket for Barack Obama. Why go on a venue like that to begin with?" Gillespie has changed his mind now that Fox, and not NBC, is the target of White House scorn. Beck asked him about the White House effort to "blackball Fox," adding, "You dont see Republicans doing that to NBC, do you?" "No, and sometimes I question why," replied Gillespie. "It is beyond me, frankly."

Oh! Youre referring to FOX news. Better check your spelling, I think your education is letting you down. It is much clearer when you say "Fair and Balanced."

oh, and it was rather amusing... your "value voters" gathering... porn causes the gay.
guess that means Utah is growing the new crop since they lead the nation as largest consumers of on-line porn.
in fact, a nationwide study in Feb of this year found that conservatives lead the parade in favor of porn for themselves. those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

One gets the feeling that these News Outlets had Their "Jackson Death" Media Packages on the Shelf like Vultures just WAITING for that Day of his Death to finally arrive, and once created, It would be a waste to not "Grandstand" and sensationalize Things right? *Snort*

I LOVE FOX NEWS and the college student who recorded the acorn employees! i just heard that the census department has severed all ties with acorn! hmmmmmm! its about time! i guess the damn liberals/democrats need to have the corruption rubbed in their faces time and time again but most will still ignore it! the damn liberals/democrats continue to protect this group as they protect others! hopefully, this is just a start! obamas associations with this group have been exposed since before the election and i think we are just seeing the beginning of the corruption! lets see within just one week van jones is out and now Acorn is forbidden to partake in the census. true Americans will see this to be a common theme with obama. however, the damn liberals/democrats have not come out and stopped Acorn from getting any taxpayer money and continue to say there is no proof and they still have the nerve to show their faces in public and criticize the right! LOLOLOLOLOL! LMAO! I LOVE FOX NEWS and their investigations! of course, the damn liberals/democrats will continue to think Fox is spreading false information! you know--like the misinformation minister of the US--obama! Iraq had their misinformation minister that everyone laughed at and we have ours! LOL! liberals/democrats=stupid!

Sorry Ive been studying for a HUGE exam. Passed with a 99% by the way!! Woo Hoo!! That whole ACORN thing last week was amazing. It took every fiber of my being NOT to blog about it but to sit back and watch it unfold. The ONE glaring thing I have to say is AL FRANKEN voted to yank ACORNS funding!!! You KNOW its bad for them when Al FRANKEN isnt even sticking up for them anymore. I know Charlie Gibson didnt even know it happened, what did he call it "worthy enough for a little cable news network", but apparently enough memebers of congress noticed it and realized how bad that really is. And its not 1 office either they hit like 8 cities!!!
  • AckAck
Aliy, I am glad ACORN is getting what it deserves but I sure hope people know that the breaking of the news didnt come from Obama or Washington in any way. They were pressured by FOX News and the conservative talk show radio hosts. Obama is a big part of this thing. Mark my words, he has been a BIG TIME supporter of ACORN. Truth be known, he has received a lot of political donations from them.
  • JackieM
obama and his idiot supports are angry because the truth about obama is being exposed. the corruption is there for all to see. we knew this all along but those who hate this country (voters for obama) continue to attempt to demean us for exposing this fool!
  • aliy
My new favorite person today is George Stephanopoulos. Did you catch him reading the definition of the word "TAX" from a dictionary and Obama trying to say it was wrong!?
  • JackieM
i liked obamas response to the acorn question. he brushed it off because he has more important matters to deal with. i guess if you are obama and corruption is your first name, you dont give a damn about our money but want to ensure taxes are raised just because you can. he is an idiot!
  • aliy
Al Franken voted to cut off their funding. And I noticed, Dora is all over other discussion threads but shes silent on this issue, wonder why that is? Oh, thats right, she doesnt answer when her side is even turning against her argument. Sorry, forgot about that.
  • JackieM
dora has been silent on all of the corruption issues lately. wonder why? LOL! when franken votes to cut off funding for anything to do with the left winged nut side, that really says something.

"I recently had a email accidently send from my IPHONE. Distraught with our Government I wrote a draft at 3:00 am in bed to review the next morning. When I woke it was sent. At the time I wished I would have the capabilities to retrieve it, but it was too late. Spell check would have greatly helped along with a few less rants and raves, however in that debacle my mother typed the message below and in her words lay my purpose. To her, thank you mom and to you all, I hope you will find the time to step away from the hustle and bustle of life and join a movement that is greater than our own trials and tribulations, a movement that represents who we are as a collective nation. A movement that rises above self, to the mountain tops, where in the quiet corners of America it creeps bringing a reminder that without freedom and the ability to govern ourselves those who come after us will never know the true and undeniable beauty that is America.

Thank you for your time and thank you mom!..."

I did, and the second plane had not hit yet. When I got to college, as I walked up to the television studio in the Basket Ball Arena my professor walked out, and with the sun reflecting off the domed arena a shadow threw his hands up and hollered, “Go home and turn on the television…This is your Pearl Harbor” That is why I built this site. I was just on a liberal site reading comments about last nights "speech." It is easy to see where liberals get this crap they are trying to feed the rest of the country. Someone said that we would get the extra medical professionals needed from the emergency rooms because that is where people who are uninsured go. WHAT! We already have a shortage of medical personnel everywhere. Well, to a moron, I guess that makes sense. So if obamas statements are true, illegals are not going to be served in this bill so the illegals will still go to emergency rooms to get free care. Now for those of us who actually have to pay for our emergencies, we will still have a to wait for long periods of time for our emergencies as a result. Of course, common sense says that it will take more professionals than those from the emergency rooms since wellness care appointments will increase dramatically. duh! Where are the millions of professionals coming from on day one! liberals/democrats are saying obama had the answers last night and they are happy with his plan. they have no common sense at all. They need obama to direct them. As long as he says it, it must be true. LOL!

The medicare savings is an interesting concept in itself. So obama could have put the savings in place when he was elected but chose not to? hmmmm! Im sure if he wanted it done it would have happened by now. either this is purely a political stunt or it cant be done. medicare cannot sustain itself on its current path. So obama and his minions want to take the "savings" out of medicare to fund something else. Heres a novel idea--keep the savings in the medicare fund it so it wont go broke. if the democrats manage to clean up medicare, which is a joke, they are robbing that account and putting it into another. what about medicare? IF costs go down, medicare is still in trouble because of the aging population. What have the smartasses proposed to fix this problem? oh yeah, they are planning to rob the fund they hope will have money in it. where is the proof of the money that will be saved? where is the proof the democrats/liberals will actually follow through and clean up medicare in the first place? i must have missed that part of the speech/lecture!

Liberals/democrats are snakes. i think we all know that. so if a controversial subject is not specifically addressed in any bill, they will find a way to go back on their word, i.e., if they say illegals will not be served, how will the illegals be identified and will the healthcare professionals be sued if they deny service. i think this is a very likely scenario. liberals/democrats are crooks so they will find the loopholes. the damn liberals/democrats can deny this all they want but it is too late when the scenario plays out. the idiot part of the American public will have been duped again.

obama has no integrity and we know that. the first thing i thought about when i heard his speech last night was that he is feeding the public the same ole crap! liberals/democrats are idiots and think that lipservice is all that is needed and people will buy into what ever they are selling. as we have seen, this only works with the stupid! obama didnt explain any of his numbers. for example, what happened to the 46 million people that needed insurance? now it is 30 million people that need insurance. what changed? that is a discrepancy that he needed to have answered unless he is hiding something. LOL! if he cant prove that $500 million will come from medicare, he is lying! he proved nothing last night and wanted people just to take him at his word. we know what his word is worth!

obama painted a really pretty picture but didnt address the raw truth. what happens when people lose their healthcare because their employers would rather pay the fine? what if an employee doesnt want the public option? so this blows obamas rhetoric right out of the water. the truth is that people would not have choices.

obama also didnt address the job losses that will occur or the rationing of healthcare that will definitely happen. im sick and tired of obama lying to the true Americans. the other idiots can believe what they want but the rest of us are not ignorant to the truth. for us common sense kicks in.

the bipartisanship rhetoric was a huge joke. remember when obama told people to get up in the republicans faces if we didnt support the failed "stimulus" plan? the fear mongering is here once again! common sense says that if he says he wants to work together and in the next sentence he calls the republicans liars, there are going to be issues. however, the fact is that the republicans told the truth and idiot obama is the liar. thank goodness some republicans held up their plans, which have been ignored by the democrats/liberals. the proof was there for all to see. i just think the republican rebuttal needed to emphasize this more.

this whole debacle has gotten out of hand thanks to the democrats! everyone agrees that the healthcare needs attention but the liberals/democrats are continuing to lie about how republicans dont want anything done. it is really all so sickening and it is proving just how ignorant the left is!

all this is going on while jobs are still no where to be found! this is nothing but a diversion from the most immediate problem. this failed administration is ignoring the economy right now! they are trying to equate healthcare with the economy when in fact jobs are more of an immediate need. so this corrupt mob doesnt want to fulfill their promises of job creation so they go off on some selling spree for THEIR healthcare plan. they have accomplished nothing positive so far so they head off in the healthcare direction. why dont they fix the housing crisis and create jobs? why dont they help small businesses so they can hire people? why dont they help this whole economy by renegotiating trade agreements to put the US back on an even playing field? hmmmmmmm! i think we know why. the liberals/democrats arent actually trying to improve this economy or anything else for that matter!
  • majormatt
So Jackie, I take your point about the illegals. They *will* still show up in the ER wont they even if the plan doesnt cover them and those costs *will* get absorbed by all of us. By the dems own ratioanle then, we would save money by just treating the illegals too (although Id prefer if it was only offered as part of their repatriation process to country of origin).

But seriously though, what should the govt do then about the looming medicare funding trainwreck? If not some sort of healthcare reform that nationalizes the risk/cost through mandated coverage then isnt the only other fiscally conservaztive option to kill medicare? I wish more conservatives has the intellectual integrity to just say it. Medicare was a fiscally irresponsible thing to do in the first place... yeah lets socialize medecine just for the old sick people when they are most expensive so private insurace can shed the risk and ask the taxpayers to just pay for it. Arent there 2 ways to go here.... nationalize the risk or end it and let every citizen fend for themselves (aka personal responsibility)?

I do think if nothing else, some reforms need to happen to keep an insurance company from screwing you out of your coverage when you get sick. Many of us who think we are happy with our insurance havent actually (thankfully) had to REALLY test it on cancer or heart disease to see if it really is worth the premiums and many of us arent really paying attention to how much the rising premiums our employers have been paying have been eating into what we could have been getting in our paychecks. If nothing else, I think some reforms make sense and natioanlizing the risk... that could be a single payer system or it could be a mandatory requirement to buy private insurance... so long as everyone pays in, then insurance works and stays affordable. On the provider side Id liek to see reforms that make it illegal for physicians to own financial stakes in companies that they refer patients too. If finance this sort of conflict of interest sends people to jail. Should be same for doctors incented to order lots of tests I dont need. And yes some reforms around frivolous lawsuits. If doctors is drunk, okay I get to sue him for alot, but if he tells me a surgery has a chance I might never walk again and I agree and I never walk again, well I should thank him for trying anyway. I think this is a complicated problem and there are alot of pieces to the solution. But the solutions has just GOT to get us better care per dollar spent and not blow up the federal budget.
  • JackieM
Personally, I would like to see medicare phased out and a personal responsibility culture adopted. If insurance was affordable and people saved for retirement as they should, medicare would not be necessary. As a matter of fact, I would like to see heavy restrictions placed on those receiving medicaid so that those who are able to provide for themselves are forced to do so whether that means they go back to school or obtain a skill to get better jobs to support themselves and their children. we should not be responsible for others children when the people decide to have children they cant afford and they continue to have them. if we dont step up and make more stringent rules, the problem will continue to get worse (it has).

Of course, healthcare reform is a must but it needs to be done honestly and it is not happening! Being in bed with huge groups of people means that the bill will not be in the best interest of the public. for example, the trial lawyers are ruling the democrats so that is a problem with tort reform, which is necessary! why cant an outside consulting firm be hired (maybe even a foreign one that has no ties to either party) to find fraud and cost savings? why cant we fix this problem first? of course, tort reform would be done at the same time along with opening up competition across state lines. this would be a way to see how much costs would decrease. there would be no speculation from people on either side. Results speak for themselves! however, democrats dont really want to cut costs. we have seen this already with the bills that they have passed. These are measures that can be taken that will quickly solve a lot of issues. democrats do not want this! competition would solve some of the issues with insurance companies dropping people. some regulation of the healthcare industry is fine as long as it is limited.

i have always placed the blame with the consumers on some of the problems. time and time again I have questioned charges and I fight my insurance company when they state they wont pay for necessary services. I also question waiting times at my doctors offices. it works! from what i understand im one of just a few people who do this. i demand good service and complain loudly about outragious costs! most people just accept the status quo and that is why we have some of the issues we have in our government and healthcare. how many people do you know that understand the costs of everything before a procedure or appointment? how many people do their own research to ensure they understand a health issue and ensure right procedure is being done? how many people accept any doctor they are referred to? how many people do you know that will go back to the doctor and tell them that the medicine is too high and you want one that does the same job and is less expensive? some people do but most dont! we have become lazy and dont question anything. i recently had surgery and was sent to an excellent hospital. the hospital catered to my specific needs (not wants), i.e., i didnt have to show up two hours ahead of time and wait to get started and some of the prep work normally done was not because it was not medically necessary. i told them up front that i refused to be treated like a product and would not go through an assembly line. they honored my requests and made my stay as good as possible. they even ensured they had the appropriate medical staff in the room and rearranged the schedules to accommodate me. to be clear, i wasnt asking anything that wasnt absolutely necessary. the staff was so gracious and wanted to help. if everyone did this, a lot of our issues would be resolved. it is the power of the people!

Laws can be passed to ensure illegals are dealt with in this country. democrats dont want to solve this problem and will continue to ensure this people who break our laws are given the keys to our cities. this can be stopped! the "soft touch"/liberal way has not worked but the damn idiots wont team up with republicans and get tough on them in the best interests of this nation. instead it has become a political issue and the illegals will continue to suck money from taxpayers. as long as the people (liberals/democrats) who want to accommodate illegals are paying for the added costs and burden to our systems and true Americans dont have to suffer because of it, i am all for them doing so!

The measures I have outlined would definitely lower costs and the arguments about them would be resolved. Any other issues could be resolved by separate bills. Now this is a common sense approach so the damn democrats/liberals would never buy into it. they would rather go to LA from NY via Spain because it looks good to their supporters because they are stupid! they are all about spending money regardless of whether we have it or not. anyone who voted for obama is either stupid or not a fiscal conservative, which also boils down to being stupid! during his campaign, he was clear about where our country was headed. if the idiots were stupid enough not to get the picture, they shouldnt have voted. we see the Dumbing Down of America syndrome easily through the liberals/democrats that are still supporting obama even after he has proven himself to be a liar and corrupt. this disease is worse than any flu we could ever have because it is destroying our whole country! my position has always been the same and obama has not surprised me at all. many of us knew what kind of incompetent, corrupt person he is! i was yelling then and im yelling now. it surprises me that people all of the sudden are angry. why now? i guess it is because a lot of folks are self-centered assholes and wont speak up until they see how they are personally affected even though they have known obama is bad for our country all along.

I think, US became nation of Idiots when George Bush was declared elected as President of this great nation by the supreme court.
  • JackieM
Im so proud that President Bush protected us against another attack. Unfortunately, the idiots who elected Clinton and continue to lie about the surplus he left fail to mention how he cut the intelligence that took decades to build up. So sad!
  • amber3
i dont think we are a nation of idiots
  • JackieM
NEWS FLASH! you are a liberal! you would think that wouldnt you? duh! the idiots dont think they are idiots! nice! LOL!

Rev. Wright, Van Jones, William Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, Jeff Jones, The Apollo Alliance, ACORN, SEIU, Cass Sunstein, John Holdren and the list goes on

Can we REALLY be expected to treat EVERY ONE OF THESE as isloated incidents? This has all come to light in the last 12 months, thats almost 1 radical association a month Obama has and were just suppose to think he made a mistake EVERY SINGLE TIME?

He didnt listen to what Rev. Wright said
He didnt think Van Jones even read what he signed (which is ONLY an excuse a liberal would use because the rest of us know not to put our signature on something before we read it)

How many other excuses are there going to be. How many other radicals is this guy going to associate with.

    Also, keep in mind....
he bowed to the king of Saudi,
    offended the Queen of England,
    Praised Marxist Daniel Ortega,
    Kissed Socialist Hugo Chavez,
Endorsed Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia.
Sided with Hugo Chavez and Communist Fidel Castro against Honduras.
Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions while theyre building their nuclear weapons,
    Insulted Special Olympians.
Announced the termination of our new missile defense system the day after North Korea launched an ICBM.
Released information on U.S. Intelligence gathering despite urgings of his own CIA director and the prior four CIA directors.
Assigned five cabinet members that cheated on their taxes and two other nominees who withdrew (not were replaced, withdrew)
Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who released a memo calling military veterans and abortion opponents "dangers to the nation."
Sent his National Defense Advisor to Europe to assure them that the US will no longer treat Israel in a special manner and they might be on their own with the Muslims.
Praised Jimmy Carters trip to Gaza where he sided with terrorist Hamas against Israel.

And I could go ON AND ON with this guys radical American hating views and positions.

I do have to ask though, at what point can we call this stuff a "pattern" and not a million isolated incindents in a 9 month period. If this is his track record only 9 months into his presidency, I would HATE to see what our country will be like in 3 years 3 more months.
  • JackieM
dora would be quick to point out everything she could about Bush because she cant get over the fact that obama is corrupt. however, she refuses to acknowledge that obama knew who these radicals were and still chose to bring down Americas reputation further by bringing so many of these people into the whitehouse and continues to associate with corrupt people while being a disgrace to our country. dora would also refuse to understand that obama purposely ensured his "czars" were not cleared and vetted as they should have been so he created the mess with van jones entirely. she would also forget to mention one of obamas platforms during his campaign about how his administration would be different and it would not be politics as usual. obama really hates America and all she stands for!
  • Dora
Jackie- White House = two words.
Tell me. Why do you expect people to believe that you read?
  • JackieM
Why would I give a damn what "people" think? The only "people" are idiots like you and you know what I think about you!

Whoops! I fogot to add that the above post did not include any comments about your being gay or who or what you sleep with! Oh yeah, it didnt mention any gay people that you follow either. I want to make it clear once again that I dont give a damn about it!

Yes, the idiocy is setting in. The nation is sliding deeper into socialism by the minute, it seems, and that can’t be a good thing.

The writings on the wall: Most Americans dont like where Obama is leading. Heres a related post that yall might get a kick out of, titled "Create a Godless Nation? YES! WE! CAN!"

Aliy- your comments regarding Obamas address to kids returning to school reflect exactly just how your "thinking" process is not managed by you- but by partisan talking heads- specifically coming from fox noise productions.
You, Glenn Beck, Fox and Friends, Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity are jokes. Personifications of stupidity and the direct source of the divisive behavior that you practice.
More than this- you attempt to base your "logic" and self-righteous indignation on nothing but severe memory lapse and lack of self control. Your comments about how you think Obama is trying to raise your child... how ridiculous can you get??!! The importance of personal responsibility is something you and others here- specifically Jackie- another loudmouth who screeches before she thinks- constantly blah blah blah about... that "liberals have no morals, and no sense of personal responsibility" and "want the government to do everything for them- hand them a check...and pay their mortgages ". The fact that these claims of yours have no basis in fact make no difference to you- you just keep on saying them.
Obama has been talking personal responsibility from day one. He has spoken of PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY FROM DAY ONE. He has worked for- as a community organizer- setting up programs and classrooms to TRAIN non-skilled individuals, single parents, and individuals whose jobs were outsourced to other countries- training them in computer knowledge and office skills among other things. Skills that would allow them to access jobs previously beyond their education or experience levels. Skills that would give them the means to IMPROVE THEIR LIVES WITHOUT GOVERNMENT HANDING THEM ANYTHING.
Yet, because you are utterly unable to READ, to RESEARCH, to LEARN for YOURSELVES, you continue to ooze the slop that you do.
It makes sense that you all gather here... birds of a feather and all... but you are proven wrong daily.
Your ranting and raving over the debt is pretty absurd and LATE -considering that Bush left over ONE TRILLION OF THAT DEBT on Obamas desk as he ran out the door. I heard not one word from you fools when Bush and Reagan left world record debts- you still prop them up on your little altars and pray that one day you will see their likes again. YOUR ideology is what placed this country on the brink of ruin. Free market capitalism with regulatory measures slashed right and left- attempts to shut down the SBA, the FDA, the EPA, Social Security, Medicare, and the DOE were main projects of the GOP- to place these into the private sector. Remove them from the safety of government regulatory and oversight... put money in their cronys pockets- when these same politicians leave office they run to work as lobbyists for these same companies they have propped up while deregulating any oversight and restrictions.

Frankly- democrats are pretty damn tired of having to clean up your messes.

You all like to crap all over the "liberal media" - but how many of you watched with drool falling from your faces as a few town halls around the country- with ignorants in attendance, making rude, nasty and violent remarks at elected representatives while shouting down those who wished to speak or listen... how many of you sat with glee as these were represented as "the norm"- when in fact HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of town halls went off swimmingly - no riots, no guns, no nazi signage, no yelling- just Americans having a conversation... how many of those did you view on the "liberal" media? ... how many of you watched over 3,000 people in Oregon on Saturday gather peacefully in support health care reform... I will tell you: NONE- and do you know why? because not one single media source attended this gathering- no coverage was given. No wing nuts to photograph- no riots to film, no skinheads to quote, no pretend bible thumpers looking for their 15 min. of fame.
  • JackieM
Dora--as usual you are full of shit and your words are nothing but propaganda! you guys have caused most of the messes in this country and Ill list one big one for you--the housing crisis! By the way, how many times do you have to be told obama dirtied his hands with the deficit before he was elected by voting for the Tarp. LOL! Keep up your worthless words. Frankly, the Republicans will have to come in and clean up this country after you guys have attempted to destroy it. Apparently, you havent been paying any attention to your own party who decided they didnt want anyone with opposing views speaking so they RUDELY SHOUTED MAKING RUDE, NASTY and VIOLENT REMARKS sparked with VIOLENCE towards the right! Your comments are old and outdated and frankly they are worthless! I have watched plenty of people gather peacefully to oppose healthcare reform. Why in the hell would I want to watch a bunch of ignorant people gather when I prefer to see a smarter crowd of people? I suggest you keep watching keitho and maddow. very few people watch that network anyway and they need your support. I suggest you think even though it is hard before you post because you do nothing but make me laugh and your posts are so ridiculous that they used to be entertainment for me! As a matter of fact, they prove just why Im a proud Republican! However, after a while your posts became boring so come up with some new material! How about telling us how you, van jones and obama became friends!

Van Jones is a globally recognized, award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean energy economy. Mr Jones is an advocate for disadvantaged people and the environment, Van helped to pass Americas first "green job training" legislation: the Green Jobs Act, which George W. Bush signed into law as a part of the 2007 Energy Bill. He is the co-founder of a number of successful non-profit organizations, including the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and Green For All.
Van is the recipient of many awards and honors, including: the Reebok International Human Rights Award; the World Economic Forums Young Global Leader designation; the prestigious, international Ashoka Fellowship; and many more. Van was included in the Ebony Magazine "Power 150" list of most influential African Americans for 2009. In 2008, Essence magazine named him one of the 25 most inspiring/influential African Americans. TIME Magazine named him an environmental hero in 2008. In 2009, TIME named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Van Jones said some things in his past but decided to work within the system rather than buck against it- he explained. He may have said some off-the-wall things but he got one thing absolutely correct- many republicans ARE assholes.
I imagine that Glenn Beck is crowing loudly because of this resignation- however, it was a group that Van co-founded that helped Glenn Beck lose 55 (and still growing) corporate sponsors for his television program for calling the president a "racist". Glenn Beck used his program to highlight Vans past as political payback. Rather than serve as a distraction Van resigned.
I place no stock in your vile hate, Jackie. You are a nasty, vindictive, hate-filled woman who would make lemons seem sweet. You are proud of your stupidity. You find endless ways to bitch and moan. You state my degrees are worthless and my opinions are not welcome. You belittle my family, my sexuality, and my non-religion . You have called Rachael Maddow "a freak". likely because she is smarter than you can ever hope to be. She is an expert on how government works, civics, and political doings. Shes a Rhodes scholar. Rachael is widely respected for the work that she does. But, Jackie, you cannot get past the fact that she is a lesbian.
If you think that your bigotry has found a home on this site- you are absolutely correct.

dora--it is really sad that you people on the left have made it a war! instead of thinking about this country, its people and how the highest office of the land should have dignity and respect, you will support anything on the left. this office no longer has the respect from very many people in this country. racist comments coming from anyone holding an office is wrong, especially when they are captured on video for the whole world to see. of course, that is not all van jones has done. you idiots were harping about how you thought that Bush ruined our reputation around the world and how he destroyed relationships, blah, blah, blah. just how in the hell do you think it looks when obama hired this idiot van jones who has been proven to be anti-American on so many levels. who cares when he made these remarks. the Whitehouse should be a place that upholds certain standards. apparently you think high standards dont apply with obama. obama is solely responsible for hiring this moron! whatever this guys accomplishments were are completely irrelevant because of HIS decisions to act stupidity on many occasions. of course, obama said he wants to be judged on his peers so we are doing just that. blame obama for telling us to do this! of course, you are too stupid to ever understand it. by the way, according to a study by the CBO green jobs pay around $8 to $12/hr on average so stop making a big deal about them and quit listening to that idiot biden when he lies to the American people about how those jobs will support families. give me a damn break! you should trade one of those foreign languages in for some common sense!

just to be clear--there was no mention of who or what you sleep with because I dont care!
  • JackieM
madoff was once considered a great guy too! van jones would never have made it through any check! your hate is really getting to you, dora. You are a nasty, vindictive, hate-filled woman who would make lemons seem sweet. You are proud of your stupidity. i had no idea anything about maddow was when i saw her lame interviews and how she refuses to tell both sides of a side due to her partisanship. her frank interview proves this. so falsely acuse me of anything you want and it really only makes me laugh. i truly dont give a damn about your life or maddows. so keep up the accusations and bring up subjects that dont have a place in this discussion. it is what democrats/liberals do best and you guys are a joke. maddow is an expert in your circles only, which is a small part of this country. the ratings prove it. you are a bigot yourself but love to acuse others because you cant seem to get past your own issues! i dont feel sorry for you but i do pity you! Beck has awesome ratings and you dont like it. booohooo!

Jackie, my husband spoke Mandarin. My mother-in-law spoke Cantonese, my partner speaks Hakka. I am fluent in all.
One little visit to China to pick up a child does not an expert make.
  • JackieM
moron dora--who gives a damn what you are fluent in? i surely dont and am not impressed! however, my son is fluent in two languages and getting ready to be fluent in three so that is something to be impressed by because of his situation. you dont know how much i know or dont know so before you make a fool out of yourself, it would be a good idea for you to stop now. i am one of those people who gets impressed by who a person is and not what their credentials are because there are idiots in everywhere. you are a perfect example. however, bragging on yourself is telling of what kind of person you are.

You are supporting Ronnies opposition to Medicare?
    Figures.
You are aware, I suppose, that this particular video is being trotted out every day by both sides- to point out the folly and the "be very afraid" plot being proposed...and how the same scare tactics were being used then as you are using now regarding medicare.
Are we now to assume that you are now suggesting that we eliminate medicare, Aliy. ?
  • aliy
I just think its amazing that Reagan knew where we were headed 48 years ago. He talks all about the socialistic values and the fact that if you dress it up and call it Liberal instead of facist people will follow. It just amazes me that he knew all those years ago the direction someone would try to take us (socialism) under the guise of "liberal" values.
  • JackieM
    Reagan was a smart man!

In reading some of van jones resignation letter today, I was truly amazed. he took no responsibility for his actions at all even when he was video taped saying racist comments. instead he blamed "the opposition." he also claims that he didnt realize what he was signing when he signed the petition after 911. now that rings a bell, doesnt it? obama takes no responsibility for his "stimulus" plan not working or any other disaster he has caused and took no responsibility when he signed a bill that he didnt supposedly thoroughly understand, i.e., AIG bonuses. jones is a yale law graduate and obama is a harvard law graduate. either the law degrees arent worth the paper they are written on and the schools are worse than any other college or these two fools are lying. as I have said before and most people know this anyway, one of the first things any law class teaches is to never sign anything unless you read and understand it. so obama and jones really look stupid. of course, that is not unusual for obama! obama hired jones and is totally responsible and owes the people of this country a huge apology for this and many other things. as of this evening obama has not released any statement as a true leader would. instead during this whole gotcha time, he has hidden himself and kept quiet. that is what i would expect from a coward. of course, liberals say we are just blind and ignorant! LOL! yeah, I guess they need an education too! liberals can continue to ignore the obvious because it is a free country thanks to everything they are against! it is a shame that we have such trash in this country. our ancestors would not be proud of the country they worked so hard for. human life was important and now the liberals have decided it is not! hard work was expected and if someone didnt work, they didnt eat! liberals took that concept and threw it out the door in exchange for more welfare and entitlements. neighbors helped neighbors and no one look to the government for handouts! people were quick to fight to keep the government out of their lives and children were raised with morals and values. all of this has now gone to hell thanks to many selfish people including every liberal. i am ashamed of what our country now represents to the outside world thanks to obama and his supporters. obamas hands are all over this and the less he can influence children the better. we have had our problems but this is really going too far! thank goodness some democrats are finally waking up. the independents definitely have. the party is losing its ground and hopefully for good. corruption and crooks are what we have in the whitehouse now more than ever! thanks to obama and his idiot supporters, this country is now more divided! that is another broken campaign promise! LOL!
  • Dora
Im wondering, Jackie, speaking of reading... do you ever EVER read anything beyond the headlines?
Perhaps if you did, you would not engage in such ignorant statements as you do.
  • JackieM
dora--for your information i am very well read! of course, it is non of your business as usual. instead of spewing your venom towards us look at your own party. it is obvious you are letting your party get by with anything they choose so this is a mute discussion. in addition, video confessions do not lie so get a life! you dont mind calling us names but heaven for bid i actually tell the true because you cant stand it. just because you cant comprehend the truth is no reason to criticize others who do! get off this site if you dont like it or learn to live with it and continue to worship obama!
  • Dora
so...if you are so damn good at reading as you claim, read this:

Florida GOP Chair on Obamas Speech to Students: "Its a Good Speech, Ill Let My Kids Watch"

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/09/florid...

try to remember Jackie...Aliy... way back...way, way back to last week when this same "gentleman" started this whole nonsense...

ABC News Steven Portnoy reports: The Florida Republican party chairman who last week accused the president of trying to “indoctrinate America’s children to his socialist agenda” now says he’ll let his children watch what he calls a “good speech,” one the president “should give.”

“It’s a good speech,” Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer said Monday. “It encourages kids to stay in school and the importance of education and I think that’s what a president should do when they’re gonna talk to students across the country.”

furthermore, I dont "worship" anyone or anything.
and knock it off with the "love it or leave it crap"- I realize that it is quite indicative of your usual manner on how you treat others- but its not just rude - we all know that you are this- but I have had it up to here with your constant negativity - bitching and moaning- and not once have you ever offered a shred of anything even resembling sanity or a good idea. A broken clock is more useful than you are- at least its correct twice a day.

here... just for fun, broaden your mind... practice this:

    Knee how ma?

    Whoa eye knee.

    Shay-shay knee.

Its Chinese- "How are you?" "I love you." and "Thank-you." respectively.
good words to know in any language.
  • JackieM
dora--when this administration does a 180 and does what is good for this country, ill be ok. as a matter of fact, when they are out of office, ill be happy. let me give you a hint--they need to stop wasting our money, encroaching on our freedoms, reduce their size and create jobs by allowing capitalism to work as intended. that is just few things that would be considered "doing their job." until then either leave this site, quit reading my posts or quit complaining!
  • JackieM
dora--for your information, i know more than that in Chinese. However, your use of the word Chinese is incorrect. Maybe you meant to say it is Mandarin or Cantonese for......? I wont discuss my personal life but I can say that I know a great deal about the Chinese culture and way of life as it is extremely close to me. Thank you very much! However, Bud, Aliy and DS know the situation and are probably laughing at you right now!

By the way has it ever crossed your mind that Republicans agree to disagree? you can probably understand that since your party is in shambles right now and is disagreeing on many levels.

I want my child to grow up with the understanding that a good person consists of more than an education. I have known a lot of highly educated people in my lifetime that are shit for humans and obama is one of them. I dont want a dictator or socialist to say anything to my child and I certainly dont want someone by the likes of obama to lecture him.
  • amber3
jackie, you may not like Obama but he is neither a dictator or a socialist. I wish the far right would stop using those terms it makes the whole conversation goofy.
  • JackieM
I wish the far left would quit trying to sugar coat obamas actions. it makes you look stupid! what are the czars there for? do you think we need 31 people to do jobs that are already supposed to be done by others? Dont you think that that is overkill? Dont you think that obama hiring people that have not been checked out/vetted is stupid? of course, maybe you think corruption is good and cant understand how this is wrong in the first place. giving 31 people who havent been checked out a tremendous amount of power with no oversight is stupid and it is not the way our government is supposed to work. how can you sit there and not laugh at yourself for being so gullible? by the way there are a lot of unemployed people that could use the money that idiot obama is paying these "people." maybe obama could give tax cuts to small businesses so that jobs would be created for millions of people in this country almost immediately! duh! however, you and your idiot leader would rather waste $2M of "stimulus" money to give four to five people jobs. my friends are not stupid and dont need babysitting by obama and his corrupt mob. obama has done more to encroach on our rights than any other person has in my lifetime. you can choose to call him a nice guy or whatever. I choose to call him a dictator, socialist, marxist and other terms that actually fit his actions! i guess you and van jones are buddies too? where was obama when all this was going on with van jones? why didnt he come out and speak for or against this idiot? he put him into this made up office in the first place so he should step up to the plate and take responsibility for his actions like any good leader does. oh yeah, i forgot he was on vacation again and is a coward and is definitely not a leader! please remind me of these things next time so I wont forget what a good leader is supposed to do. LOL! obama has lost his creditability with many people in his own party. Thank goodness the other side saw him for what he was a long time ago. Republicans dont need to do anything right now but sit back and watch this circus and all of the clowns that are screwing up this country. However, as many Republicans do, I happen to love this country and the principals it was founded on and watching them being destroyed is not something Im proud of. No true American is happy with this situation right now!

What happened to the 47M people that obama and his merry crooks made up that need healthcare again? LOL! i guess we should have never questioned the cult leader and found out the truth, huh?
  • amber3
you are just to far out there to engage with.
  • JackieM
I consider that a compliment! I prefer to follow this countrys founding principals and the Constitution. Those people who do not would not understand my views and the views of true Americans. You wont be able to communicate intelligently until you understand them so either sit back and learn or keep up with your left-winged nutjob ideals!
  • aliy
    Can you say Indoctrination?!!!

    http://www.ed.gov/admins/lead/academic/bts.html

This is an actual letter from the Department of Education to all principals in the country. Please read it and tell me if you see anything wrong with this
  • amber3
I can see why conservatives would not like this. On the other hand we are I remember fox news getting there talking point directly from the white house and calling it fair and balanced political analysis/ news. This in an old game, its kind of late to be complaining about the rules now.
  • aliy
Youre talking about Fox news getting talking points from the white house, but that wasnt required to be broadcast to EVERY school in the country. All were asking here, is let US decide if our children should listen to a political speech or not, after all, I decided if or not my son can watch Fox news too.

I remember Bush making a speech in a middle school and liberals saying that was no place for political forum, EVEN OBAMA said the schools are no place for political forum. Why is it ok to do it now?

The second thing Im taking issue with is the preperation of teaching the children about Obama BEFORE the speech. Why do they have to have a "learn all about Obama" unit when they should be studying for that other failure of educaiton the FCAT?

The third thing Im upset about is the after speech paper they were asking everyone to write on "how can I help the president?" You can see where the wording of that might worry some people.

The fact is that if Obama and his supporters dont want us calling him a dictator, he needs to stop doing things that come off dictatorial. Like making all school children learn all about him, writing papers on how they can "help" him. Those are things Hitler did too he replaced the word "help" with the word "serve" but it was the same paper. Bottom line, you dont want to be compared to dictators, stop acting like one.
  • amber3
Hello Aily. If this was the other way around I wouldnt like it either. I more or less agree with you, I think it is inappropriate.
For the record I think Obama is doing a very good job as president. In my view republicans have been ungracious in their defeat and given him very little credit or support.
When conservatives compare Obama to hitler I feel the knee jerk reaction to remind them that if hitler were an American, alive today and he had to choose an existing political party, he would undoubtedly be a republican
  • aliy
Thank you Amber, for understanding where Im coming from on this one.

If Hitler were a republican that wouldnt surprise me much. I can see how the recent (last 20 years or so) change in the party (going conservative light to get votes from the left, pandering to special interests in the hopes youll gain more power) could be looked at as someone envious of dictatorial leaders and the power they have.

I guess its rampant on both sides of the isle. There is no "represent the people" anymore, its all just one big power strugle in Washington. Who has the most power, how many laws can they pass to give them even MORE power. Its just sad in my opinion.
  • Dora
Whats "sad", Aliy, are people like you: ever-ready to claim Hitler this or that- but never understanding why Hitler was able to create the divisiveness that allowed his reign of terror.

He took advantage of economic problems and looked for where he could point blame to galvanize his power. He chose the jews. Later adding homosexuals, and any who would shelter jews or gays. His claim of superiority of the arian race and demonizing all that were not - was his mantra.

Obama has never demonized any race, religion, or country.

    YOU have.

Obama has spoken of "red state/blue state" divisiveness and has begged for oppositions to find common ground and move forward as the UNITED STATES.

    YOU do not.

Obama has stressed the importance of finding good ideas- no matter from what side of the isle they originate.

YOU have joined the rest of the twinkie brigade to "just say no". No matter what Obama does or does not do, "just say no".
  • amber3
    Dora this is exactly right
whats troubling is that people "ever-ready to claim Hitler this or that- but never understanding why Hitler was able to create the divisiveness that allowed his reign of terror.

    YOU do not.

Obama has stressed the importance of finding good ideas- no matter from what side of the isle they originate"

    Very well said !!!!!!!
  • JackieM
amber--thank you for spewing obamas rhetoric. obama only speaks and doesnt back up his words. just because he says something doesnt mean he believes it. his actions are proving otherwise. he has further divided this country and has failed to recognize opposing points of view. blowing critics off and calling them names proves that he wants to further divide this country. republicans have come up with plans for the economy and healthcare that will actually work according to economics, history and common sense. instead of putting bandaids on issues, republicans have come up with solid solutions that cannot be disputed. however, as usual the democrats/liberals choose to ignore them and continue to spread lies that republicans are not cooperating and finding common ground. if common ground means implementing bad policies, republicans rightly will refuse. if common ground means changing this nation from its free market economy, the republicans will rightly refuse. if common ground means agreeing to more government, the republicans will rightly refuse. get a life and stop trying to spread your stupidity! oh and yes, the SOB has demonized a race, religion and this country. im so sorry that you have not been paying attention and need to get educated about the people he has in his cabinet. bagdad bob/obama said that we should judge him by his peers. duh! when we do what he asked, you idiots get angry! keep it up!
  • amber3
David Brooks summed it nicely he saidFlap over school speech
    JIM LEHRER: .
Speaking of speeches by President Obama, hes going to speak -- hes doing a speech to the schoolkids, the public schoolkids, on Tuesday. And all -- what -- all kinds of things have broken out because of that.

    MARK SHIELDS: All hell.

JIM LEHRER: All hell has broken out.

MARK SHIELDS: All heck has broken loose, certainly, yes.

JIM LEHRER: Well, Im glad you said it, instead of me.

    MARK SHIELDS: Right.

JIM LEHRER: But what in the world is going on?

MARK SHIELDS: Well, I think theres a convergence here.

First of all, there are people who are conspiracy -- conspiracy buffs. Theyre more than buffs. They are addicted to it. The state Republican Party of Florida said they did not want the children to have to listen to the president lecture them on his socialist agenda, the schoolchildren in that state.

They stood up because he was going to tell why he was going to tax people who create jobs and take money away from them. I mean, its just -- Jim, these are people in another galaxy. They are another planet. Thats part of the problem.

JIM LEHRER: But its all over the country.

MARK SHIELDS: But it is all over the country. Well, the governor -- the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, said it was -- it was an interruption and a -- indefensible between the state and the local education and the federal.

Rick did not, his predecessors did not object when President Reagan in 1988 spoke to schoolchildren. President George Herbert Walker did in 1991. You know, I think the truth is -- and nobody wants to talk about this -- the reason the president is doing it, which is kind of a questionable thing, is to deliver the message to those kids most at risk of dropping out, children who have a single parent, children who are being raised by grandparents, of racial minorities, to say...

JIM LEHRER: Look at me. Look at me.

MARK SHIELDS: ... I did it. I did it. Stay in school. You can achieve your dreams.

I think that is what it is about. And I think David agree.

    DAVID BROOKS: Yes.

JIM LEHRER: Do you agree with that, David?

DAVID BROOKS: Yes, I do agree with that.

I mean, you would think hes -- you know, he is going to read the Communist Manifesto out there.

DAVID BROOKS: And he is not. He is going to give a banal speech about the importance of staying in school.

Listen, I dont think we need to see Barack Obamas face every five minutes on the TV screen. So, I...

JIM LEHRER: Hes over -- you think hes overdoing it?

DAVID BROOKS: Well, I -- you know, its like we have to all share his goodness every five minutes. He has to be on every pulpit. He has to host the "NewsHour" next. Hes going to be everywhere.

DAVID BROOKS: So, I think its a little too much.

I dont -- I think the presidency is a job of running the government. Its not to be the national Oprah. So -- but, that said, hes someone people look up to. Hes not only the head of the government. Hes the head of state. He represents the country.

And, if he is going to go to kids, a lot of whom admire them, and give them a good positive message, I personally dont see any problem. The larger problem for conservatives, by the way, is that there are a lot of conservatives who are fine with him. Hes president. OK, you might not agree with him, but hes president. Hes a good guy.

There is a fever swamp problem. And I happen to think it is a small minority of people on the right being blown out of the proportion by the media, frankly. But it is a problem that you have what you might call the death panel conservatives, who are -- who have decided that Barack Obama is the second coming of Karl Marx and -- and Engels. And hes totally inappropriate for the American context.

And that fever swamp part of the right is a problem for conservatives, most of all.

    there talking about you jackie.
  • aliy
Fever swamp and Florida....Im in Orlando. I said above after talking to the school the other day that more than 1/2 the parents for our school called up with the same arguement, its not the presidents job to talk to our children and its MY decision if or not my child is exposed to it. So, I dont think its a couple people being blown out of porportion by the media. Just like the town halls, its only 1 or 2 radical rights being blown out of porportion? No, its a BUNCH of people. The free our healthcare petition has very close to 2 million signatures on it. I dont think thats one or two people.

I know what the media says but this is the same media that showed a guy in Denver carrying an AK47 and did 15 min on how hes a racist who hates that a black man got elected when the guy carrying the gun WAS black.

I trust what I see, not what MSNBC tells me. I trust what I"m experiencing and not what Obama tells me is going on. Im seeing a lot of people coming out and saying "its MY job to raise my child, not yours Mr. President, back off."

There will always be people like Dora who just think were all too stupid to follow anything Obama does. I guess the guy would actually have to put her in a concentration camp for her to even consider that hes following dictatorial blue prints. I just see a lot of similarities,

The president of Iran cuts the country off on the internet so nothing gets in, nothing gets out. Hes a dictator. Theres a bill before congress S773 which would give Obama the same power.

Its stuff like that that makes me go Hum? I guess becuase Obama is the second coming of Christ in Doras eyes HIM cutting the private sector off from the internet would be good. I still dont know how shes making that leap, but its those leaps that allow her to insult me and call me all sorts of names.
  • aliy
Bottom line though, its not Obamas Job to raise my children.

Some liberals think everyone else owes them something, a pay check, a place to live, free heathcare, and they want someone else to raise their children. I could see them being OK with this but those of us who raise our children ourselves and dont want someone else butting in, this is exactly that, a butt in.

Im a single mom, my son turns 8 tomorrow, hes in the gifted program at school, hes got 3-5 day a week where he does extra classes for karate, golf, basketball, and guitar lessons. Hes a well rounded boy who reads every night, tries his hardest at everything he does and quite frankly, doesnt need the pressure of the president telling him he has to do MORE.

People on the new can say republicans and conservatives dont want him pushing his "left wing agenda" but the bottom line comes down to I dont want or need his help raising my boy.
  • amber3
Aily I think you are well within your rights to feel affronted, and this does not make you a "death panel conservative". Again if it GW was giving this speech, i would hate it. but as Dora has pointed out, It is not unprecedented.

When Regan did it he actually espoused a little conservative ideology.

If Obama gives a little pep talk on the value of education, conservatives may find it annoying, and choose to keep their children home but that does not make it part of a grand conspiracy to suspend our democracy
  • JackieM
amber3--you are wrong. this is unprecedented. we have never had a "leader" that is as radical as obama. we have never had a leader who wants to control as much as obama does and is succeeding. we have never had a leader that hires as many thugs as obama has. how many czars does he have? i wouldnt say anything if it was a few that were just trying to do their jobs. however, we have too many and they have not been put in front of the American people. We are now finding out the bad and ugly on some of them. obama doesnt have a problem with a racist among other things. he also doesnt have a problem hiring someone who supports third term abortions when the mother and child are healthy. these are despictable people and it is a reflection on who obama is. it is sad to listen to van jones speeches and to realize that obama associates himself with people like him. obama said judge him for his peers. why in the hell would anyone want their child to be talked to by someone like obama? i guess some people raise their children to be unethical and disgusting like obama. I personally want my child to be a better person than the likes of him or anyone associated with him. we dont need any more people like him in this world. so obama talking to school children of any age is wrong! his is not a good example to anyone unless they are a member of a gang in school. gang members are similar to the chicago mob obama associated with so it fits.
  • aliy
The Nov. 14, 1988 speech on CSpan, was to JUNIOR high kids and it wasnt a "stay in school" thing. It was a Q and A session with kids. What Obama is trying to do, not matter HOW much MSNBC tries to tell you its the same thing, its NOT.

There was no letter from the board of education saying ALL ages (including PreK) should
    1. learn about Reagan before hand, 2. ALL watch the speech, and
    3. Write a paper after on how to help Reagan.

Maybe Doras correct and the phrase "write a paper on how you can help the president" just means something totally different in Obama land, but to me, that doesnt sound like Obama answering questions from school kids.

And the age appropriateness of it counts too. My sons teacher said she wasnt really going to show it anyway because who the hell cares at 8 year old?

Reagan didnt address the whole student body, he answered questions from jr. high school students about civics and the power to vote.

He didnt give them a pep talk and ask them to write a paper on how to "help him". Im still trying to figure out what that "really" means in Obama land because Dora said we were all just too stupid to figure it out.
  • amber3
Aily now that the text of the speech has been released, I think your concerns about indoctrination should be elated. I am curious if this is the case.
  • aliy
I will look at it at some point, but tonight I was busy doing my chem, anatomy and religion homework and helping my son with all his homework.

When I get a break from actually living the whole "stay in school" thing, Ill check out what he had to say.

I do promise to get back to you on that soon but I have 3 tests this week alone so Im a little swamped.
  • JackieM
...and we have a choice since it is a free country. that is something obama is trying to destroy!

if my son were listening to a hero of some kind or someone he should look up to, i would choose to let him watch a video the person made about staying in school depending on the circumstances. obama is no hero and is definitely the opposite of who I want my child to be influenced by. obama DOES NOT represent everyone in this country and what this country was founded on. he represents the radical fools who elected him and some of those are regretting their decision.
  • Dora
The fact that you continue to babble nonsense and absurdities indicates that you have yet to get out of your rat hole to seek outside sources of information, Jackie.
The fact that you are obsessed with the opinion that "Obama is intentionally out to destroy the country and every freedom that we enjoy" shows the extent of your extreme paranoia.
The radical and extreme-speak comes not from Obama, but from YOU.
When was the last time Obama singled you out and called you names?
When have you ever expressed a complaint regarding Obama without calling him names? Go back and read your own foul posts.
  • JackieM
I was recently in a foreign country and happened to get the chance to talk to quite a few of the citizens. All they knew was that it was a great thing that the US elected a black man. they didnt have a clue about anything else. i laughed as i told them the truth about the idiot! i also encouraged them to research it for themselves and hope they will. it will be an eye opening experience for them. they have my email address and are welcome to challenge me on it anytime if they find that i didnt state facts. i can bet they will find that the truth is on my side! this country is very depressed and news is monitored. however they now know where to find the information on the net that is not blocked in their country. whoooohoooo! spreading the truth is always a great thing!
  • JackieM
Yes, the nitwits like dora still think obama and his crooked merrymen, i.e., van jones or whatever the nutjobs name is, are doing a great job. i guess they are when their agenda is to destroy this country! oh by the way, where are the jobs, you morons!

Thank goodness my child is not in school yet. I pity the school board if he was. I have a problem with obama saying anything to children. they need to grow up thinking education along with high morals and values are necessities. education alone is not the key. obama has no integrity and the idiots in his administration dont either. His kind is not what I want my child to see. This is the most crooked administration we have ever had and no one needs to look up to any of them. Of course we are seeing democrats finally paying attention. I dont want my child thinking that education and being corrupt is the right path to take. "Honey, get an education and it is ok to take peoples freedoms away! Go ahead and surround yourself with crooks while destroying this country and lying to people! Oh, by the way killing babies is ok too!" I dont think so! The only way the children can help the moron (we all know he needs help) is to ensure they go home to their parents and tell them the idiot needs to be impeached!

As we know, a lot of teachers are liberals. They would ensure their ignorant point of view is shared with the children in one form or another. We have seen this via video on the news.

The democrats are destroying themselves. I just really dislike them destroying our country in the process.
  • Dora
First of all, the address that Obama is to make is being made "available" to public schools- there is no "forced" anything. For you to say this is yet another outright LIE flopping forth from your face.
Secondly, ALL kids in ALL schools -of any legitimacy -study present and past presidents. All. This is neither news nor controversial- yet you, and other pinheads, want to make it news. Your own ideology precludes you from ANY rational thought.
Third- The item on writing an essay -on how the individual student could "help" -was inserted in a release from an Obama staffer as a suggestion to teachers as to how they might incorporate the address from the president into an individual class project on civics and personal responsibility.

The idiotic "outrage" from people like you, Aliy - is so damnably insane and outright ridiculous that it would be funny if you were not so dangerously ignorant- not only of the facts, but also history. President George H.W. Bush addressed American students in 1991, and Ronald Reagan did so via C-SPAN in 1988. (Bush talked mainly about the importance of education, while Reagan hailed the benefits of low taxes and the line-item veto.) President George W. Bush appealed to "the children of the country" to back the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2001, to no public criticism. Admittedly, some Democrats accused his father of playing politics in 91, while Newt Gingrich ardently defended him.

When I was a child, we had a program called the Presidential Fitness Program.
It was designed to address FITNESS- there were suggested levels of fitness for each grade level (number of sit-ups, pull ups, running broad jump, running, etc)- each child did the best that they could. We all got certificates "from Pres. Kennedy" for participating and doing our best.
Obama has always, let me repeat that, Aliy- Obama has ALWAYS stressed the importance of education. Obama has also ALWAYS stressed the importance of parents as being active participants in stressing the importance of education, and of staying in school. The fact that you have a problem with this is a serious indication of your level of stupidity and utter ignorance. The fact that you are all up in arms over the president giving a back to school message - stressing the importance of education goes so far beyond ridiculous on your part (2blue, you too) that anything ... and I do mean ANYTHING henceforth, coming from your face or keyboard, places you in the in the rubber twinkie brigade - crazy Chicken Littles run amuck. For you and your other Chicken Little and off the rail birther friends, to urge parents to keep children home from school is irresponsible and downright nuts. For you to promote this continued fear mongering leaves me to no other conclusion that it would not matter WHAT Obama does or does not do - you would be against it- if he buttered his toast, you would stage a protest that he buttered the wrong side. If he wore black sox -you would point it out as a sign that he promotes black ideology- If he grew a mustache, you would somehow find this to be a socialist act.
Good grief, woman. Get some help. You are one sick puppy.
  • aliy
Did you think if the shoe were on the other foot and the board of edcuation were "suggesting" your child have to watch Bush give them a speech and write a story on how they could help Bush, youd be OK with it?!

No, ALL your examples had one thing in them Dora, A PARENTS CHOICE TO LET THE CHILD OR NOT LET THE CHILD BE EXPOSED TO IT.

I agree they should be learning about presidents, but not as a mandate before a speech so they will understand the importance of who is talking to them. it should be because they were ALL important and they ALL contributed something to our society, good bad and ugly.

You can call me chicken little, you can call me a sick puppy but NO ONE is going to tell ME how to raise MY CHILD. Not Obama, Not YOU Not anyone!!! Its none of your damn business what and when I let my child be exposed to things, that is MY DECISION AND MY DECISION ALONE.

Let me put his another way for you: You have NO business telling me what my child can and can not be exposed too.

I have no problem with Obamas message, I have a problem with the system of delivery where my son is going to be force fed it in school if his teacher is an Obama supporter and there isnt a damn thing I can do about it. THAT is what I have a problem with. Obama wants to stress education, fine, thats great, but its not HIS job to raise my son. Thats MY JOB.

And I personally dont think an essay on "how can I help Obama" is even RELATED to a pep talk to do good in school. How is doing good in school for your own self worth and education "helping Obama" now we all have a responsibility to HIM to learn something?!

And THAT Dora, is something a dictator would do. As a matter of fact, its something Hitler DID do to the children in Germany in the 30s. Look it up, they were called Hitlers Youth. You want me to stop calling Obama a dictator, Id be happy to do that as soon as he stops acting like one.
  • Dora
Well, I guess, judging from your words here, that you consider Bush The First a "dictator" because, in his address to the children of school age, he specifically asked the kids to write to him to tell the president how they "could help the president" .

You continue to be bat-shit crazy, Aliy. Do some damn research!

Its kind of funny that 2blue would insert here the "rules of engagement" from Alinskys notations- since they are exactly what the right wing fringies like her have employed regarding anything Obama. The silly season continues with the politics of nonsense and distraction....Death panels, welcome back to school address, lapel pins, logos, architecture, Hollywood, etc. In addition, lady 2blue and her hero Glenn Beck , DS, (does this stand for dip-shit? seems only fair to ask since this plastic patriot and phony bible thumper finds it necessary to call me names rather than be civil) , old man Bubbles, are always badmouthing community activists... yet one cannot fail to note that they are constantly calling out for "a grassroots campaign"... which is exactly what community activists do. hmmmmm....
no matter how stupid and ignorant you continue to be... you are amusing when you display your hypocrisy so shamelessly-
  • aliy
Yes Dora, I DO think Bush I over stepped his bounds. I have told you a million times, I am not for sucky policies no matter WHAT party they come from. Over step bounds, act like a dictator, I call a spade a spade Dora, thats just the way it is. I know you have a problem with "same rules for everyone" but in my world thats exactly what it is. SAME rules for EVERYONE.
  • aliy
Which by the way, is NOT hypocritical. You need to go look up some of these words before you use them.
  • Dora
Bat shit crazy people like you, Aliy- twinkie brigade - nothing more.
READ - the CSPAN feed is being made available to schools.
    Nobody is forced. NOBODY.
The "help Obama" item has been removed- because people like you could not understand it - preferring instead to twist it to mean help Obama take over.
Im sorry that you are so stupid that you cannot even understand how stupid you are. Dangerously stupid.
  • aliy
I hope to GOD someone takes away YOUR right to rasie your child yourself.

I already told you Dora, call me all the names you want but you will NOT tell me how to raise my child. If thats too hard of a concept for you to understand, I guess youre a lot stupider than you think I am.
  • aliy
And just so you know, my sons school didnt have 1 person say they want their child watching that crap on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, out of 600 children, they have gotten over 400 calls, emails, notes and letters from parents saying they will keep their children HOME that day if it shows in the school.

I dont care WHAT party you think you belong too, if you are for this speech, you are AGAINST parents rights. End of story. And Dora, youre proving it calling me all sorts of names just becuase I want to choose what my son is exposed too.

I guess under Dictator Obama we cant make decisions reguarding our own children anymore, I dont think IM the one whos bat shit. Youre actually fighting with me to have the right to tell me how to raise MY child. THAT is bat shit.
  • Dora
    from Joan Walsh:

"The hysteria Obama inspires in his far-right foes is primeval, primordial. From the Birthers obsession with the facts of his birth -- which lets them obsess about his origins in miscegenation -- to the paranoia that hes coming for the children, theres a deep strand of irrational paranoia that cant be anything other than racial. These people dont merely disagree with him, they distrust and dislike him viscerally. Hes not merely wrong, hes scary; even terrifying."

"Ive said this before, to little result, but its past time for mainstream, responsible Republicans to stand up against this latest irrational attack on the president. Ive clashed with MSNBCs Joe Scarborough over the years, and I havent been a guest on "Morning Joe" for many, many months, but he deserves credit for calling out the people on his side of the aisle for the bile theyre spewing. “Seriously, why don’t we want the president of the United States, any president of the United States, delivering the message to kids: work hard, stay in school, succeed,” said Scarborough, adding, “Get your ratings if you want, you’re just screwing your political party.” Scarboroughs right, its turning the GOP into the lunatic fringe, but I think its also hurting the president, and hurting the country."
  • amber3
Blue 2 regarding you post on evolution, I more or less subscribe to Darwins observations regarding the evolution of species, but I consider all life to be (for lack of another word) divine. I dont see why subscribing to one must negate the other.

As for challenges facing humanity i believe you are ultimately right, but this is why climate stability is so important. The models/ forecasts / predictions or what ever you want to call them show extreme drought, flooding, and massive species die off resulting in famine and disease. Rising sea levels causing mass migrations of people, destabilizing governments and basically leading to conflicts between humans. It is my view that in order to prevent the worst of this we need a heallthy eco system/ stable climate.
  • 2bluestarmom
    ALL life is sacred.

As for the climate, I have no opinion. I live in the south. Its always hot here. ;-)
  • amber3
    No opinion!!! That offends me!
  • amber3
Blue 2 that wasnt my question.M question was do you subscribe to global warming/man made? as stated in the first post. in the second post i was just stating my position on the subject. i figured if i was going to ask you your view on the subject i should at least give you mine.
So to clarify i did not ask what i thought the biggest challenge facing humanity is.

    Rephrase that question:
Do you believe that global warming?
If so do you believe human activity is contributing to global warming ?
  • 2bluestarmom
What do you think is the "greatest challenge" of humanity in this age?
  • 2bluestarmom
    Humanity may refer to:

    * The human species

The total world population of humans

    * Human nature, psychological characteristics that all normal human beings have in common

Compassion, altruism, or similar positive aspects of human nature along with aggression, fear, or similar negative aspects

    * The human condition, the totality of experience of existing as a human
    * The humanities, academic disciplines which study the human condition using analytic, critical, or speculative methods

As an evolutionist for example, you will never acknowledge that a creator exists and created man.

Christians believe in a creator and that man has evolved, naturally, to where he/she is today.

Therefore, most Christians believe that to destroy a life is to destroy creation, by the Creator.

Evolutionist, who are typically, agnostic/athetistic, believe that life was evolved from, whatever, that there is no creator and therefore can never or I should say, will never accept that God created life and that to destroy that life, is murder.

So to me, the "greatest challenge" humanity has ever faced, is how to stop, the extermination/murder/annihilation/terror/war/genocide of the least protected and most helpless species on the planet, the unborn human child.
  • amber3
I guess I should clarify my position on the subject. I do believe global warming is a result of human activity and in my view is has the potential to become the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced.
  • aliy
See, I dont see "global warming" as a man made problem. I see polution, the chopping down of the rain forests and national parks for profit, the destruction of things like Ozone, THAT is us. But the temperature in the world goes up and down with or without us. Do we contribute, yeah, but its not just the USA doing it.
  • amber3
I have another totally off topic question for conservatives.
Do any of you subscribe to the idea of global warming, caused at least in part but human activity? A yes or no answer will suffice.
    I appreciate your response
  • aliy
Yes and no. I believe in global warming. I KNOW its our fault the Ozone is disappearing too. I also know that at other times in this planets history the weather was much warmer (times of the dinosaurs it was said that the average temp. as far north as Canada was like Florida is now, year round), ice age, heat wave, seems to be the cycle our planet works in.

Am I worried about what we do to our own planet. Of course. Do I think carbon Dioxide is a problem, No Way In Hell.

Carbon Dioxide is necessary for everything green on this planet. Us limiting it would be like all the plants getting together and saying "hey, lets not put out so much Oxygen!" The thing we SHOULD be limiting is Carbon MONOXIDE. Which is that black plume coming from the back of these cars. THAT is poison. We know this because idiots run their cars in the garage with the door closed and it kills them.

Do I think we could all be more green, yeah, I think there is a lot of waste in this country. On the flip side, even though we have one of the largest waste numbers in the world, when you break it down per capita, not so much. And when you look at how our country tries to contain, control, recycle and reuse the waste, thats wonderful.

But we cant do it alone. Instead of taxing the hell out of me for running my AC why not work harder on countries like Iraq where when the garbage bag is full, they throw it out in the street, or China who has a layer of smog from polution coating everything you touch. Until we get the world to cooperate, were shoveling crap against the tide.
  • Dora
Your ignorance regarding CO2 is alarming and dangerous, Aliy.
Instead of taking Glenn Becks version of science- why not learn from those who actually know something:

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/indepth_coverage/sc...

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/warming/etc/faqs.html
  • aliy
    Its 7th grade science Dora.
CO2 is necessary for everything green on this plant to survive. Its what we exhale, and its carbon Monoxide that kills. YOU mame, are the totally ignoramous on this one

    STRATEGIC PUBLIC RELATIONS

    Alinskys Rules for Radicals

Want to know how to fight this enemy? We need to come at them with the same strategy they are using to take us down!

This is how the current administration is making "change" and they have the right people, most of them, not vetted, working in our white house, having privy to our nations most fragile information!

To paraphrase some sage advice, "keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer." If your business or organization ever becomes a target of radical activists, it will be extremely helpful to know what strategies of attack will used against you. Short of having spies infiltrate their organization - a practice that is sure to be found out and exposed to your discredit - it would help to study their methods.

Known as the "father of modern American radicalism," Saul D. Alinsky (1909-1972) developed strategies and tactics that take the enormous, unfocused emotional energy of grassroots groups and transform it into effective anti-government and anti-corporate activism. Activist organizations teach his ideas widely taught today as a set of model behaviors, and they use these principles to create an emotional commitment to victory - no matter what.

Grassroots pressure on large organizations is reality, and there is every indication that it will grow. Because the conflicts manifest in high-profile public debate and often-panicked decision-making, studying Alinskys rules will help organizations develop counteractive strategies that can level the playing field.

Governments and corporations have inherent weaknesses. And, time and again, they repeat mistakes that other large organizations have made, even repeating their OWN mistakes. Alinskys out-of-print book - "Rules for Radicals" - illustrates why opposition groups take on large organizations with utter glee, and why these governments and corporations fail to win.

Large organizations have learned to stonewall and not empower activists. In other words, they try to ignore radical activists and are never as committed to victory as their opposition is committed to defeating them. Result? They are unprepared for the hailstorm of brutal tactics that severely damage their reputation and send them running with their tails between their legs.

Some of these rules are ruthless, but they work. Here are the rules to be aware of:

RULE 1: "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have." Power is derived from 2 main sources - money and people. "Have-Nots" must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

RULE 2: "Never go outside the expertise of your people." It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. (Organizations under attack wonder why radicals dont address the "real" issues. This is why. They avoid things with which they have no knowledge.)

RULE 3: "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy." Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

RULE 4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entitys very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

RULE 5: "Ridicule is mans most potent weapon." There is no defense. Its irrational. Its infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

RULE 6: "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." Theyll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. Theyre doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different that any other human being. We all avoid "un-fun" activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

RULE 7: "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag." Dont become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

RULE 8: "Keep the pressure on. Never let up." Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

RULE 9: "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself." Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. (Perception is reality. Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists minds. The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions. The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

RULE 10: "If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive." Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog. (Unions used this tactic. Peaceful [albeit loud] demonstrations during the heyday of unions in the early to mid-20th Century incurred managements wrath, often in the form of violence that eventually brought public sympathy to their side.)

RULE 11: "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative." Never let the enemy score points because youre caught without a solution to the problem. (Old saw: If youre not part of the solution, youre part of the problem. Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power. So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

Now look at this list above. The radicals who come here, go by this list. Most of them. Some of them are just out there looking for something to do. I would say they are just liberals making the same old arguments.

Then there are the radicals who are trolling the internet, among other things, you know, "just doing their jobs!"

Dont argue with these communists! Its part of their strategy.

Go back to this list often to remind yourself when they come on here trying to distract and poison. From their own teachers mouth "The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization"

BARACK OBAMA AND HIS ALLIES ARE TRYING
    TO CHANGE THE U.S. CONSTITUTION:

Barack Obama and his allies are trying to change the U.S. Constitution WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE AMENDMENT PROCESS -- in fact, theyre trying to rewrite the ENTIRE CONSTITUTION -- and theyre close to succeeding!

What would you think if an amendment to the U.S. Constitution was introduced by liberal Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, which repealed the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights -- taking away our right to Free Speech?

What would you think if an amendment to the U.S. Constitution was introduced by liberal Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, which repealed the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights -- taking away our right to Keep and Bear Arms? (A right that the U.S. Supreme Court recently upheld!)

"That could never happen," you say. "No one would allow it!" Right? Well...

Did you know that there are TWO ways that our Constitution can be changed? And did you know that Pelosi, Reid and Barack Obama are using the less well-known way, without having to actually introduce amendments?

ITS TRUE -- and WE have to stop it NOW!

One way to change the Constitution is to go through the amendment process -- a long and tedious process requiring two-thirds of both houses of Congress to pass an amendment, and then three-fourths of the states to ratify it.

That means a "super-majority" of our representatives at the National and State levels would have to be in favor of the amendment -- which safeguards us from the possibility of really "bad" amendments.

BUT... there is one other way that our Constitution can be changed... and it DOES NOT require all of those elected representatives to be in favor of it. Its called a Constitutional Convention, and all that it requires is 34 states to ask Congress to call one.

In fact, right now, all that is needed is for two more states to ask for a Constitutional Convention... and the basic law of the land could be changed forever by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid!

    STOP BARACK OBAMA
AND HIS ALLIES FROM CHANGING THE U.S. CONSTITUTION:

Most people dont realize that Article V of the Constitution requires Congress to call a new Constitutional Convention (a "Con Con") if two-thirds (or 34) of the states request it. Weve only had one other "Con Con" in our history: the one where the original Constitution was written in 1787!

The language of Article V is mandatory: it says that Congress "shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments" whenever requests are received from two-thirds of the states. Note that the word "amendments" is used in the plural. These are the only instructions we have about a Constitutional Convention. There are no other rules or guidelines.

We dont know how a Constitutional Convention would be apportioned, or how the delegates would be elected. We dont know what rules the Convention would operate under. We dont know whether changes to the Constitution could be proposed by a simple majority, or would require a super majority, of those attending. We dont know if the agenda could be limited or would be wide open to any proposal.

We dont know ANYTHING about how a Con Con would work -- which means that it will come down to Congress setting the rules!

And Congress is controlled by the most radically liberal Democrats in American history! Is that who we want to be in charge of a new Constitutional Convention?

Do we want BARACK OBAMA, NANCY PELOSI, and HARRY REID to completely rewrite our most basic document of law?

The fact is, under the vague language of Article V, a Constitutional Convention cannot be limited. It would be wide open, and able to consider ANY change in the Constitution that was proposed!

Former U. S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger once said, "There is no effective way to limit or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention. The convention could make its own rules and set its own agenda."

The Stanford Law School Professor whose case-book is used in the majority of U.S. law schools, Gerald Gunther, said that, even if Congress tried to limit the Convention to one subject, the delegates could decide for themselves that the Convention "is entitled to set its own agenda."

This means that, even if supporters of a "Con Con" claim that the convention would only cover one issue -- whether its a balanced budget amendment or removing the requirement that to be eligible to serve as President, one must be a "natural born citizen," or anything else -- there is NO WAY to stop the Convention from changing EVERYTHING that we hold dear in America!

Barack Obama and his far-left supporters would be able to get THEIR people appointed as delegates to the Convention, so that THEIR agendas would be the Conventions agenda, and THEIR plans for socialism in America would come to pass.

Say BYE-BYE to the First Amendments freedom of speech --

Say BYE-BYE to the Second Amendments right to bear arms -- a total gun ban could be the law of the land!

Say BYE-BYE to the Constitutions requirement that to serve as President a man or a woman must be a "natural born citizen"!

You KNOW thats what theyll do if given the chance -- and were only TWO STATES AWAY from seeing a Constitutional Convention convened!

You see, Article V says that it takes a request from two-thirds of the states to force a "Con Con" -- but it doesnt say theres any time limit on getting to that total!

Thirty-two states have already issued a call for a "Con Con" over the last few decades, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.

It only takes 34 states to REQUIRE a Constitutional Convention be convened!

Some states, like Georgia, Virginia, and others, have since voted to "rescind" their call for a "Con Con" -- BUT no one is sure whether those "rescission" votes are actually Constitutional...so the danger is REAL!

The United States Justice Foundation is launching a major campaign to STOP a "Con Con" from taking place -- WE MUST CREATE a tremendous outpouring of publicity and public scrutiny to be given to this danger, so that Barack Obama and his radical liberal allies cant "sneak this past us" without anyone noticing, until its too late. Right now, our staff is conducting legal and historical research, and preparing legal opinions, to submit to every state legislature, if necessary, and well be offering to represent any state, or state legislator, in fighting the Con-Con based on those documents.

Were also going to be leading a grassroots effort to attack this issue at both the state and federal levels: At the state level, leading the charge in every state to either NOT VOTE for a "Con Con" (if they havent voted yet) or to RESCIND their past vote in favor (if they have). And, at the federal level, well be mobilizing citizens across the country to contact their Representatives and Senators to DEMAND that they come out, NOW, and announce their support for a states right to rescind, and that they wont support a call for a "Con-Con." In addition, well be calling on the Attorney General of the United States, and the Attorney General of each and every State that has passed a "Con-Con" resolution, to issue an official Opinion on the legality of rescission.

THIS DANGER IS REAL. The Constitutional Convention of 1787 was called for the exclusive purpose of amending the Articles of Confederation. Once the Founding Fathers assembled in Philadelphia, however, they threw out the Articles of Confederation and wrote an entirely new Constitution, and even changed the ratification procedure so they could get it adopted more easily. The 1787 Convention is the only precedent we have for a national Constitutional Convention.

Theres no guarantee that all of the changes to our Constitution passed at a Constitutional Convention would need to be ratified by 34 states this time -- if a "Con Con" can change our structure of government as defined in Articles I, II, and III, of the Constitution, then it can also change the Article V requirement that three-fourths of the states are needed to ratify any changes. The Convention of 1787 reduced the number of states required to ratify a change from 100% of the states to 75%, and a Convention today could "follow their example" and reduce it further, to 66%, or 60%, or even 51%!

WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!

President Barack Obama has already expressed his belief that the U.S. Constitution needs to be interpreted in the context of current affairs and events. Can you imagine what he and his supporters would DO to that document if given the chance to re-write it completely? Our Bill of Rights could disappear overnight!

In fact, all the way back in 2006, Obama already had his lawyers researching how someone could get around the eligibility requirements to serve as U.S. President -- these people simply dont CARE about whether we preserve the supreme law of the land!

Remember -- when the last Constitutional Convention met in 1787, the original goal was to amend the Articles of Confederation. Instead, delegates simply threw them out and wrote a whole new Constitution.

Thats EXACTLY what Obama, Pelosi and Reid would do this time -- but this time, the result would destroy our freedoms.

    Do you all remember this?

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that weve set. Weve got to have a civilian national security force thats just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Senator Obama was nearly 17 minutes into his July 2 speech in Colorado Springs, Colorado when he deviated from his pre-released script and performed without the teleprompter net.

Its on video for those of you who want to challenge it.

    So, my question to you is;

    - Why do we need a civilian force?

    - Who is posing a threat to us?

    - Who will this “force” be made up of?

    - Who is the real enemy?

    - Does the president know of a coming event? If not, who builds an army against an unrecognized enemy?

Who is, the real enemy? Thats my concern.

Whatever your political leaning is. Do your homework. Put the pieces of the puzzle together.

The “change” is profound to say the least. We have an enemy of the people in the white house who is holding true to his promises, at least the promises that further his marxist agenda

5 days before the election Obama stated:

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”

And now you see that his cabinet and marxist supporters, are changing things in America alright. And who’s stopping them?

    Where are your voices?

Why aren’t any politicians address this crap?!

We have beat this health care issue to death. I don’t say we should stop voicing our oppositions…but there are “fundamental changes” happening right before our eyes and who’s paying attention?

    Where is your outrage?!!!

The American Heritage® Dictionary from the year 2000 defines the words fundamentally and transforming as follows:
ADJECTIVE: 1a. Of or relating to the foundation or base; elementary: the fundamental laws of the universe. b. Forming or serving as an essential component of a system or structure; central: an example that was fundamental to the argument. c. Of great significance or entailing major change: a book that underwent fundamental revision.
NOUN: 1. Something that is an essential or necessary part of a system or object.
    OTHER FORMS: funda·mental·ly —ADVERB
    VERB: Inflected forms: trans·formed, trans·form·ing, trans·forms
TRANSITIVE VERB: 1. To change markedly the appearance or form of: “A thick, fibrous fog had transformed the trees into ghosts and the streetlights into soft, haloed moons”(David Michael Kaplan). 2. To change the nature, function, or condition of; convert. See synonyms at convert.

So as we can see from the definitions, fundamentally transforming something (in this case the United States of America) means to markedly change the nature, function, or condition of the foundation or base, forming or serving as an essential component of a system.

So what is it, exactly, that Senator Obama needs to markedly change? What is the foundation or base of the United States of America, the essential component of our system (our government)? I would argue it is the Constitution of the United States of America. But does the U.S. Constitution need to be markedly changed? I would argue, of course it does not. Senator Obama couldn’t have possibly meant to fundamentally transform the Constitution of the United States of America, could he?

UC is just tired. But who he left this site with has kind of lost control of the liberal running amuck.

You forgot the deny of a fly over for the God and Country festival (which has had a fly over for 42 years). Im not sure if you mentioned the S773 bill which will give Obama the power to just shut down the internet whenever the hell he feels like it (it would be HIM declaring a "cyber emergency" so it would be at his whim since theres no guideline for what constitutes a "cyber emergency") which if you ask me would be MORE intrusive of the general population of citizen of the USA than the Patriot Act.

And I could get nasty here and point out the man is on "vacation" durning Ramadan but were not going to pick on his REAL religion. But its pretty obvious its NOT christian.

What we have aliy is a "snake oil peddler/salesman" running the white house.

"The snake oil peddler became a stock character in Western movies: a travelling "doctor" with dubious credentials, selling some medicine (such as snake oil) with boisterous marketing hype, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence, typically bogus. To enhance sales, an accomplice in the crowd (a "shill") would often "attest" the value of the product in an effort to provoke buying enthusiasm. The "doctor" would prudently leave town before his customers realized that they had been cheated. This practice is also called "grifting" and its practitioners "grifters".

The practice of selling dubious remedies for real (or imagined) ailments still occurs today, albeit with some updated marketing techniques. Claims of cures for chronic diseases (for example, diabetes mellitus), for which there are reputedly only symptomatic treatments available from mainstream medicine, are especially common.[citation needed] The term snake oil peddling is used as a derogatory term to describe such practices."

He is a community organizer. A radical, who knows how to organize and pitch a sale.

He does not know how to run a country. He is a puppet for a bigger agenda as most of us have stated and recognized from the get go when we were observing him from afar during the election.

Come on, this guy was a virtual unknown with no experience and radical ties throughout his life.

There could only be "elite powers" that put him in office and I will always believe that his presidency was "guaranteed" from the get go.

    The election was a farce.

He knew he would win. It was signed, sealed and delivered.

here is what I want to know. I have class on the 8th of September. The day Obama has chosen for his indoctrination of the countries youth (yes, hes giving a speech that must be played in SCHOOLS around the country and a series of questions the children have to answer after).

Do I find a sitter for that day and keep my son home or blast out of MY class ASAP to be in my sons school with a copy of the constitution in my back pocket to REALLY answer the kids questions?

I think if they are going to require schools to play his speech and give a series of questions like "what is the president asking ME to do?" I should be there to tell them they are under NO obligation to listen to him, right?

Aliy. Obama changes hats/colors when it furthers his cause. He is a chameleon

    As a metaphor

When a person is described as chameleon, the reference to the animal is generally a commentary on the persons ability to blend into various social situations, often to mean the person has no true values, or that he quickly abandons them in company if its convenient to do so.[11] "Chameleons" are also people who can change their personality and appearance with ease, morphing into a seemingly different person, such as an accomplished actor or model.

Anyone getting tired of decades of the race card being played? Do you realize this is part of the strategy to get what they want? Whos they? Those whether of color or not and are either politicians or activist.

Here is some of what Van Jones, One of Os advisers and czars has been stating up until recently...that being with the year:

VAN JONES: "This movement is deeper than a solar panel! Deeper than a solar panel! Dont stop there! Dont stop there! Were gonna change the whole system! Were gonna change the whole thing. Were not gonna put a new battery in a broken system. We want a new system. We want a new system!"

"And our Native American sisters and brothers who were pushed and bullied and mistreated and shoved into all the land we didnt want, where it was all hot and windy. Well, guess what? Renewable energy? Guess what, solar industry? Guess what wind industry? They now own and control 80 percent of the renewable energy resources. No more broken treaties. No more broken treaties. Give them the wealth! Give them the wealth! Give them the dignity. Give them the respect that they deserve. No justice on stolen land. We owe them a debt."

"JONES: What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about people who come here from all around the world who were willing to have out in the field, with poison being sprayed on them, poison being sprayed on them because we have the wrong agricultural system. And were willing to poison them and poison the earth to put food on our table, but we dont want to give them rights and we dont want to give them dignity and we dont want to give them respect?"

Its pay back time. They are going to make the people, non color, whites, pay for what they have been guilty of themselves. Its going to be a blood bath in this country.

Poll: Israeli Jews See Obama as Pro-Palestinian
Only 6 percent of Jewish Israelis view Obama as pro-Israel, while half see him as pro-Palestinian.

JERUSALEM -- A new poll shows only 6 percent of Israeli Jews see President Barack Obamas administration as pro-Israel, while 50 percent see it as pro-Palestinian.

That is a dramatic change from the previous U.S. administration of George W. Bush, which 88 percent termed "pro-Israel" and just 2 percent labeled pro-Palestinian.

Many Israelis reject Obamas call for a total settlement freeze and have come to see him as overly sympathetic to Palestinian claims.

The poll, taken after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said for the first time he supported a demilitarized Palestinian state, found 36 percent of respondents viewed Obama as neutral.

Netanyahus advisers and aides offered varying explanations for Israelis negative view of Obama, ranging from blaming the media for focusing on the perception of strained relations between Washington and Jerusalem to the belief that Obama faulted Israel for the lack of peace in the Middle East.

Last week, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the prime minister believes Obama wants to create a confrontation with Israel to help him improve relations with the Arab world, aides said.

In Cairo, Obama called for a "new beginning" between the United States and Muslim countries. In the speech, he called the long-standing U.S.-Israel alliance "unbreakable" but stepped up pressure on Israels leadership to follow U.S. terms for a roadmap to peace.

A previous poll taken merely one month ago, found only 14 percent saw the Obama administration as pro-Palestinian while 31 percent viewed it pro-Israeli. The large shift in perspective points to a strong reaction from the Israeli public after the American presidents speech to the Muslim world.

Middle East envoy George Mitchell said in Israel that the U.S. commitment to Israeli security is "unshakable" and that policy gaps "are not disagreements among adversaries" but between "close allies and friends."

The poll of 500 Jewish Israelis was conducted by Smith Research and published Friday in The Jerusalem Post. The margin of error was 4.5 percent.

Russian Professor: Collapse of America could begin in two months

Russian Professor Igor Panarin has stated that certain events that are occurring in the United States is actually confirming his doomsday forecast for the US: collapse.

Igor Panarin, doctor of political sciences and professor of the Russian Diplomatic Academy Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters and journalists, after unveiling his new book, that the United States is in the beginning of its demise and that its collapse could occur within the next two months, according to Russia Today.

Obama is “the president of hope”, but in a year there won’t be any hope. He’s practically another Gorbachev – he likes to talk but hasn’t really managed to do anything.

Gorbachev at least had been a secretary of a regional communist party administration, whereas Obama was just a social worker. His mentality is totally different. He’s a nice person and talks nicely – but he’s not a leader and will take America to a crash. When Americans understand that – it will be like a bomb explosion.

For more than a decade now, Panarin has been forecasting the collapse and disintegration of the United States and, like many economic analysts these days such as Jim Rogers and Peter Schiff, the utter devaluation of the US Dollar.

Last year he stated, according to a report by Rianovosti, The dollar is not secured by anything. The countrys foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse.

Also, the recent Japanese elections further show, at least to Panarin, that the financial disaster is imminent in the United States. As well, China would dump the US dollar in massive amounts and the Russian Federation would begin to sell their oil and gas for Roubles.

Today I received another confirmation that the collapse of the dollar and the US is inevitable. Japan’s Democratic Party won the election, and I’d like to remind you that its leader [Yukio Hatoyama] has the snubbing of the dollar among his economic plans. In plainer words, he plans to transfer Japan’s monetary reserves from US dollars into another currency.

The move will seriously accelerate the dollar’s exchange slump as early as this November. Disintegration will follow shortly.

In another frightening prediction for America, he sees the US separating into four parts, quite similar to the Civil War in 1865, The Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

Panarin thinks the east coast will be taken over by the European Union, the Pacific coast will be controlled by the Chinese, northern and mid-west states will be dominated by Canada and the south will be owned by Mexico. A map can be viewed here.

In my opinion, the probability of the US ceasing to exist by June, 2010 exceeds 50%. At this point, the mission of all major international powers is to prevent chaos in the US.

UC is obviously on to other things and no longer has an interest here. Whos running the show?

Are you afraid you will be shut down if you expose what is really happening in our country?

How about start informing everyone to whats happening behind the scenes at the "white house?"

If I had the power and the amount of traffic you have here, I would not be wasting it or time!

Tell us about Obamas czars. Who are they? What are they doing? What is their agenda in their own words? How can we stop it? What power does our constitution give us in stopping marxist/socialist/communism/facist/totalitarianism in our government?

Every single day there are many issues affecting the outcome of our country. Why is it we are only seeing UC post once or twice a month? Are you just here to entertain, considering this particular article "are we becoming a nation of idiots" is posted under "home/entertainment?"

Did you all know about this? "‘‘Cybersecurity Act of 2009’’"

A legislation proposed on April 1 is no joke. The proposed bill would grant President Obama the authority to shut down public and private networks -- including the restriction of internet traffic -- as part of a cybersecurity emergency plan.

The bill was introduced by West Virginia Democratic Sen. John Rockefeller and Sen. Olympia Snowe, a Republican from Maine. The aim of the bill is to unite both public and private network operators to develop regulations for what to do in case of a cyber attack.

For obvious reasons, many are concerned about what such power could mean if the wrong actions were taken. Leslie Harris, president and CEO at the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), said in a NetworkWorld story, “This is pretty sweeping legislation. Seems the President could turn off the Internet completely or tell someone like Verizon to limit or block certain traffic. There is a lot to worry about in this bill.”

Are you surprised that Rockefeller introduced this bill? His family is part of the New World Order. You know, the banking elite who have been instrumental in the over throw of our country.

Becoming a Nation of Idiots? The fact that a majority of Americans succumb to fear, rally and vote for Change without understandign exactly what the Change means, is a sign that we became a Nation of isiots almost a year ago. I find it amazing, appalling, that the simple word "Change" spoken by a man with no experiance and a sickening scoial agenda was enough to sway the mind of people. We became a Nation of Idiots when people started believing the lies spewed by CNN. And you know what? Any idiot who votes for this guy deserves exaclty what he gets, because they ignorantly chose it. The rest of us? Time to secede. We can have an idiot States of America and a s\Slightly Smarter States of America.

Right as in the correct thing to do for the country by the constitution. No compassion, just cold hard facts of what we can and cant do. When you start letting compassion run where youre going as a country, youre in trouble. And right now, were in trouble. Started with Bush, carried on by Obama, more than likely, the next guy wont be much better, but its the whole idea that weve lost the great men in politics anymore and were left with idiots and power hungry jerks whos only concern is how much power they can grab while in the position they are in. And thats sad.
  • geniusconservative
yeah this was some real important stuff to talk about here. we can really learn how to affect the world for a better, more positive place with such critical and thorough investigation of obvious sensationalist "journalism." thanks for giving even more printspace to such an important event. i know i will never forget where i was when the outrage of michael jacksons death finally hit the blogosphere.

You want someting we should be learning from......3,900 stimulus checks (in the amount of $250 each) went to people in PRISON!!!! Thats $975,000!!!

Let me just say, if that is the ONLY part of the stimulus plan we HAVE been able to track where the hell is the rest of it!!??
  • geniusconservative
yes lets get upset about 975K when over 6 billion dollars are used every year to keep nonviolent offenders in the largest prison system in history.

I agree but thats not what were talking about here. Were talking about the governments inability to do anything right. Which I guess, if you want to get technical about it, your post falls right in there with that idea too.

I wonder if those names (the 3,900) are people who "registered" to vote and cast votes for Obama in the last election? Maybe Acorn sign ups? We KNOW they committed voter fraud, a bunch of them are all pleading guilty now. It wouldnt surprise me if they took the stimulus money and used it as a pay off for a vote (even a not so legit one).

I find this article interesting you stated that CNN co-founder Reese Schonfeld statements were hypocritical when in fact this story in itself is hypocritical. Obviously there were some people intrigued enough to watch the "All MJ coverage, all the time" but your slant is that they were not the majority. Have you ever considered the fact that you may be in the minority. I dont endorse nor did I like the continuous coverage that goes with tragedies like this, but I have sense to know that my opinion on the matter may not be the prevailing thought of the day.
Because people dont "expend energy needed to understand the difference between a deficit and the national debt" does that make their thought process anymore vain than your way of thinking. We all have a truly authentic purpose that a higher power has blessed us with. Everyones purpose does not have a direct correlation with economic issues some people come from a lineage where they have never had money (wealth) and pursue arenas of life that they find more gratifying than an economic situation. I appreciate all thoughts and respect all thought processes, but I find it troubling when one mans thought contends that another mans thought is not as respectable as his. Just know how you view the situation there is a polar opposite thought to yours and the truth lies somewhere in the midst of them all.

.. with your phony god-following noise... yet daily, you present yourself as the ultimate hypocrite- intentionally hate-filled and revenge motivated- and NOT at all christian...in any sense of the word. you, sir, are just plain revolting.
the "truth" in your foul link was vile - for you to promote this as anything representative of a man whose body of work cannot be matched is repulsive, ignorant, and hate-filled..
congratulations , DS- you have managed to out-do even your previous hate-rants and have once again promoted your ignorance for all to see. your ignorance overwhelms me. you are a shameful, shameful man. i dust my hands of you. even your god can not help you now for you are intentionally and knowingly cruel towards your fellow man.

No, I doubt, unless (notice is stated "unless" since you liberals gleam only what you can use for your propaganda) he repented on his death bed, for the mass murders, leading this country down a path of total destruction, will he remain in the presence of The Lord.

For once, I agree with 2blue- appointing "czars" is really not the kind of America we are... manufacturing czar, federal "privacy czar", nuclear terrorism "czar", regulatory czar, AIDS czar, war czar, drug czar... whether actually activated or suggested positions... the word title "Czar" doesnt really represent our style of government... except for one thing, dear 2blue- these aforementioned "Czars" were ALL from the BUSH administration.. and that only listed a few of them.

How convenient that your selective memory failed to expose the entire picture which includes the immediate past... all the more indication that you people are not too keen on facts but very big on bitching.
  • Matt5012
There have been Czars in our Government for decades. Richard Nixon appointed the first one I can think of - William Simon - as Energy Czar in 1973.

The number of these things have just been increasing and increasing as the years go by.

It has nothing to do with Right vs. Left - that idea and concept is dead. The two party system is an illusion and a control mechanism. No matter who is in power the Government Grows, the Control gets tighter and Liberty dies. Do you really believe that people can be sorted into 2 little groups and either one or the other will fully explain all their views? 300,000,000 People and 2 Political Parties and you believe that is a valid system and NOT a control mechanism?

That question is posed to anyone who wishes to address it.

If you want to discuss facts, Im all for it. I believe there is a previous post regarding Health Care which I corrected some of your facts regarding the Constitution but you have not responded.
  • aliy
the problem with Czars is they are NOT elected but suddenly given this massive power over (pretty much) us, the people! The green Czar right now is a guy who totally believes in the Marxist form of government. He believes in what Lenin said about how government should run. I dont like the idea hes in charge and theres NOTHING we can do about it. THAT is the problem with Czars
  • Matt5012
I never said there was no problem with them. I never said I was glad about them. My point is that to lay this on Obama and say this is a problem hes creating is intellectually lazy and incorrect.

The fact that unelected bureaucrats have actually been running our Government while the elected officials are figureheads and puppets is nothing new. Who elects the Board of the Federal Reserve? They dictatorially control OUR currency and every aspect of OUR economy. A Private Corporation CONTROLS our money and is allowed to simply create it out of thin air. When you or I do that, its called counterfeiting and fraud.

When people argue over a specific piece of legislation and whether one section or word implies this or that, they are forgetting a key point.

When legislation goes into effect, its passed to the Secretary of whatever department is applicable. That Secretary has immense regulatory powers to bring into effect said legislation in ways beyond any words in the bill. During the course of operation for this law, it passes from hundreds of levels, from the Federal Government in D.C. to that specific office that you have to visit in your hometown. During that course, it has passed through the hands of thousands of bureaucrats who each make decisions which put their own little agenda into it. By the time its effects reach you, that legislation you were arguing about means nothing.

The Czars just add to this issue. Theyre given poorly defined jobs with poorly defined authority while trying to obtain poorly defined goals. None of that is accidental but quite intentional. Its exactly what their name implies - they are dictating policy in their specific area to whatever end meets the goals of those actually in charge.

Its a vast problem that has been in existence well before Obama. Hes risen the numbers - no doubt - but, as I pointed out, the concept has been around for quite some time. Carter had 2 Inflation Czars - how well did that work out?

This is the problem with Statists and their goals - growing Government exponentially expands this bureaucracy and with each new Kafkaesque department that emerges, Liberty dies a little more.

Its amazing how many Statists exist in what is still thought, by many, to be a "Free Country". Let me ask yall, have you ever said to yourself "There ought to be a law"? Even about the smallest things like spitting gun on the sidewalk. We have been trained to look to the Government as the solution instead of as the problem. Thats Benthamite ideology to the T.

Its a problem far and beyond yelling about Obama doing it - it strikes directly to the heart of the Government we want to exist. Limited with clearly defined authority or ever growing with faceless bureaucrats taking actions that will never be held accountable and that you and I see the effects of on a daily basis.

A nameless faceless bureaucrat, when I go to the Gun Store, decides whether I can exercise my 2nd Amendment RIGHT. I dont know their name, their beliefs or their goals but thanks to the Patriot Act being added on top of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (A direct translation of the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938) - this faceless Government drone has complete authority over MY RIGHTS.

This goes back to the topic of Blackstone vs. Bentham. What concept of Government do we as Americans support and which one are we going to ALLOW to exist? Because, in the end, we DO decide what Government exists and, whatever it is, we are ALLOWING it to exist.
  • aliy
Very True. I was just pointing out that Czars are not elected. However, even though weve had them since Nixon, Obama seems to have WAY MORE than any other president. They are accountable to NO ONE and come ON, this is just stupid:

    1. Herb Allison-TARP Czar
    2. Alan Bersin-Border Czar
    3. Dennis Blair-Intelligence Czar
    4. John Brennan-Terrorism Czar--I thought Terrorism didnt exist anymore!?
    5. Carol Browner-Energy Czar--This one WAS started by Nixon
    6. Adolfo Carrion, Jr-Urban Affairs Czar
    7. Ashton Carter-Weapons Czar
    8. Aneesh Chopra-Technology Czar
    9. Jeffrey Crowley-AIDS Czar
    10. Cameron Davis-Great Lakes Czar
    11. Nancy-Ann DeParle-Health Czar
    12. Earl Devaney-Stimulus Accountability Czar--3,900 stimulus checks to PRISONS, Yeah, HE"S doing a great job.
    13. Joshua DuBois-Faith-based Czar--Why do we need one of these is if we freedom of religion?
    14. Kenneth Feinberg-Pay Czar--this is the guy thats going to tell corporate America they can only make so much money then they have to stop!!!
    15. Danny Fried-Guantanamo Closure Czar
    16. J. Scott Gration-Sudan Czar
    17. Richard Holbrooke-Afghanistan Czar
    18. John Holdren-Science Czar--Who, by the way, doesnt BELIEVE IN SCIENCE
    19. Van Jones Green-Jobs Czar
    20. Gil Kerlikowske-Drug Czar
    21. Vivek Kundra-Information Czar
    22. George Mitchell-Mideast Peace Czar
    23. Ed Montgomery-Car Czar
    24. Dennis Ross-Mideast Policy Czar
    25. Gary Samore-WMD Czar--Thought there were none of THESE either!?
    26. Todd Stern-Climate Czar
    27. Cass Sunstein-Regulatory Czar
    28. Paul Volcker-Economic Czar

Were just missing a Czar to watch the Czars and a Czar of propaganda and were socialist!

I think a lot of the frustration comes when we try to do it legally, we try to make our voices heard and you have jack asses like the senator from NJ who said he doesnt CARE what his constituents said, hes voting for the bill and ramming it down their throats because they are too stupid to know whats good for them. Or Bill Marh who said the EXACT same thing on Conan,

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lBgpI2S4I4

The problem with liberals is were going to do things legally, constitutionally and they are going to cheat lie and steal everything they can. Like with Kennedy....

When Kerry was running for president and Romney was in the gov. seat in Mass the liberals changed the law that Romney wouldnt be able to assign Kerrys senate seat, it had to go to a special vote. Now that Kennedy passed and theres a liberal in office up there, they want the law changed BACK so he can just assign someone!

Liberals are going to change laws, rule and everything to fit what they want. Not what is true and I understand the three examples of what you gave for our powers but how do you use those with a group of people who are pretty much convinced that even IF we vote them out, they dont actually have to leave!?

Thats the point were at right now. They will find a way to change the rules. Like, lets say Pelosi gets 20% of the vote and whom ever is running against her gets 80% shell just change the law to say elections are like golf and the low score wins! They have done it in Mass and they will try it everywhere else they are loosing control. When you play with someone who makes up rules you should walk away and not play with them anymore, but in this case, its our governement being the big cheating babies!

My biggest fear is that this party has gotten control and will refuse to let go because the American people who vote them OUT of office "are too stupid to know what they were doing". I really fear were stuck with this group of dictators because they will twist a law and find a way to stay there even if voted out.

Teddy Kennedy was - without question- the single most important representative of what an effective "politician" , consummate humanitarian , and seeker of social justice should be. Teddy was, without question, not only the best of the Kennedy brothers, but also the most effective in terms of effecting - in a very positive way, the daily lives of every single one of us in this country every single day...for those of you here that are so partisan that you refuse to see this because of your own personal ideology- there is no hope. I feel sorry for you and for your inane collective celebrated ignorance.

Kennedy spent his entire career fighting for YOU, not for the glory- but because it was the right thing to do.

Health care was one of his primary concerns. Nobody, NOBODY has more expertise that he had. There has never been an individual - in government or out- that stood up for the working people, spoke for those who had no voice, spoke for women, the elderly, the minimum wage, the developmentally disabled, minority civil rights, the list is enormous. None of you - not a single one of you here- have not benefited from the work of Teddy Kennedy.

We have needed real health care reform for decades. You all know this. If Kennedy had not been so weak these past months, I have no doubt that he would have gotten it done. He was that well respected by democrats and republicans alike. He was able to broker consensus. This is how things get done.

Now, with the horrible infighting within the democrats, and the GOP- the constant "party of no-- we want Obama to fail" attitudes running about, getting agreement on even whether there is a rug on the floor or not is next to impossible. Thats just insane. You have people like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and the ever Irrational Limbaugh spewing absolute lies, promoting hate, and nonsense, mixed in with cruelty, race baiting, and urging violence, only adding to the disarray. This is not acceptable or American.

Get off of your collective lard butts a find a way to be an American. Naming the health care bill - whatever the final form takes- is a tribute to a true American. Maybe one day some of you will learn what exactly a true American is.

Get off your collective lard butts is EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT LAZY ASS PEOPLE TO DO. Maybe then they wont NEED my money. Maybe, just maybe they will be able to support themselves and have their OWN money.

Using Kennedys death as the sole reason you have to pass the healthcare bill he had NOTHING to do with is disgraceful.

You can say whatever you want about how wonderful he was, if he was really that wonderful he would have been able to accomplish something without having to croak and be exhaulted as a saint to get it done!

"Kennedy spent his entire career fighting for YOU"

That is not his job even if you do believe that. His job is to effect Legislation that ensures my Rights to 3 things - Life, Liberty and Property.

When he fights to expand Government beyond the bounds EXPRESSLY laid out in the Constitution, he is failing in his job and destroying the Oath he took.

Believe what you want about his character but, understand, the measure of a Politician is not how much free crap you get from him but how much he fought to keep Government in line with the Constitution. That is it.

Show me where he succeeded in that responsibility.

    No problem, dear ignorant matt:

    # On February 12 2008, Senator Edward Kennedy fulfilled his Oath of Office, acting to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by casting a vote against S. 2248, the FISA Amendments Act. The FISA Amendments Act makes the misnamed Protect America Act permanent. Even worse, the FISA Amendments Act makes it legal:

    - For the federal government to spy on you electronically
    - Reading your email
    - Listening to your telephone calls
    - Watching what web pages you visit
    - Following your financial transactions
    - Without any explanation of why theyre doing it
    - Without anyone outside of the Executive Branch knowing that its being done
    - Without oversight by Congress
    - Letting the government use information it obtains illegally
    - Giving telecommunications companies retroactive immunity for helping the government do this, even when it was expressly against the law to do so

When a President of the United States has this kind of power at his disposal, she or he cannot be stopped. The presidents power becomes total and the president becomes a totalitarian. Senator Kennedy did the right thing by casting a vote against the FISA Amendments Act.

    # Senator Kennedy cast a vote against the ironically named Protect America Act. The Protect America Act is a law now passed by both houses of Congress which replaces judicial warrants with executive prerogative and substitutes blank checks for reasons. The Protect America Act gives the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence the power to spy on your emails, your web surfing, your telephone calls and other electronic communications. All this is carried out without a warrant, which is required by the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

There is no supervision of the spy programs put in place by the Attorney General and the DNI, except by these two indivivuals themselves. No one has the power to stop them any more. They can search your records, sift through your private messages, watch you go from web page to web page, on the pretext of protecting America from terrorists, all without a search warrant. No one has the power to tell them no.

the Attorney General and the DNI, both political appointees of the President, have the power under the Protect America Act to order any American to help them conduct their electronic spying against other Americans. Under the new law, if they order you to take part in their spying operations, and you say no, they can throw you in prison. If you do not keep their spying on other Americans a secret, even from your family, they can throw you in prison.

The Protect America Act institutes Big Brother government in the United States. It betrays American liberty. It is a shame that the Act passed, but thanks are due to Senator Kennedy for casting a vote against it.

Kennedy profoundly affected U.S. policy, domestic and international, and is widely regarded as one of the most effective legislators of the past three or four decades, with important roles in landmark laws such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act.
Throughout his career, Kennedy fought for health care, education, civil rights, immigration reform and protection of natural resources. During his Senate career, he authored more than 2,500 bills, several hundred of which became law.
From 1970 onward, he lent his powerful voice to the cause of civil rights in Northern Ireland, working with leaders of the United Kingdom and Ireland to bring about a lasting peace. In 1998, the senator met with Northern Irish leaders on both sides of the conflict in peace talks chaired by former Senator George Mitchell that led to the Good Friday Accords, which laid the groundwork for political power-sharing.
Kennedy also was active in U.S. relations with the Soviet Union, especially as a relentless advocate of free emigration. During his many visits to Russia in the 1970s and 1980s, he helped obtain exit visas for many high-profile artists and dissidents, including famed cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, and helped secure the 1986 release of Anatoly Sharansky, imprisoned since 1977 for Jewish activism, and that of 25 other so-called “refuseniks.”
In the 1980s, Kennedy worked to end apartheid in South Africa, meeting with Bishop Desmond Tutu, Winnie Mandela (then the wife of the jailed Nelson Mandela) and the South African Cabinet. The senator’s proposed legislation to invoke sanctions against South Africa prompted President Ronald Reagan to impose sanctions by executive order instead. Nonetheless, Kennedy maintained political pressure and ensured continuing awareness of the plight of South Africans through a succession of bills, hearings and debates until apartheid was ended.
In Latin America, Senator Kennedy had been a tireless advocate for democracy and human rights since the early 1970s, when he opposed military dictatorships in Chile and Argentina. Reacting to President Richard Nixon’s isolation of the democratically elected Salvador Allende, Kennedy urged that the 1970 decision of Chileans in electing Allende, a Marxist socialist, be accepted. After the Chilean military overthrew Allende, Kennedy championed the Chilean people, fighting to condition U.S. aid on the restoration of democracy and protection of human rights. When Patricio Aylwin was elected Chile’s president in 1990, Kennedy introduced legislation to authorize $50 million in assistance to Chile, urged restoration of trade and investment benefits and called for technical assistance to help Chile combat its environmental problems.
Kennedy’s engagement in international affairs continued throughout his service in the Senate. In 2007, he held the first congressional hearing on Iraqi refugees and led U.S. efforts to address what he described as a grave humanitarian crisis. He sponsored legislation that increased the number of special immigrant visas for Iraqi and Afghan translators and interpreters and mandated increased efforts to resettle Iraqi refugees.

“Senator Kennedy was a figure who inspired admiration, respect and devotion, not just in America but around the world,” former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said August 26. “He was a true public servant committed to the values of fairness, justice and opportunity.”

Matt- you obviously have no brains or the capacity to use the one that might be located within your skull. You are a waste of time. Go read a book.
  • Matt5012
    Dora,
Ill ignore the ad hominems - they were fun though.

Interventionism on one front while opposing it on another does not equal Constitutionality. Some call that hypocrisy Dora. You must look outside the box. President Bush did a few things which were in support of Constitutional Principles. However, he did a great many things that were so contrary to the Constitution as to be demonstrably traitorous. The interventionism youre lauding of Kennedy is no different than the interventionism of Bush that we both rail against. Youre blinded by the Party system.

I dont need an explanation of the Patriot Act - thank you though. I have been tirelessly railing against it for quite some time now.

The irony here, however, is that you laud him for his opposition to unfettered Government intrusion into privacy in that area while completely ignoring his advocacy and unwavering support for the same thing in a different area.

When the Government becomes a Health Care provider, when they become the sole regulator and when the Digital Health Care Records is implemented, that same privacy intrusion will take place and in just as much of a sinister and personal nature. The things you discuss with your doctor are perhaps more personal than what you discuss with any other human, or at least AS personal.

The Government having, keeping and maintaining your health records is abominable and ultimately one of the greatest examples of pure Unconstitutional actions that can even be thought up. Yet you support his cause and hold it up as an example of his great Patriotism.

On another note, if you are going to plagiarize, please dont do it so blatantly. I see where all your information came from and it is not your own thoughts or knowledge. Please cite next time.

    http://www.progressivepatriots.com/senate/senKe...
    http://www.america.gov/st/usg-english/2009/Augu...

Please, step out of the Left/Right paradigm and understand that while one side screams about an Unconstitutional issue, when the tables are turned they do the exact same thing. Each party simply couches it in different language. Equality vs. Security. They each bring about Big Government and Less Freedom.

So instead of copying and pasting from websites, perhaps you should read a book and try to understand exactly whats going on here.

If what Ive written is not enough, let me know. I will respond with a list of explicitly Unconstitutional actions of which Teddy was guilty of.

One of the really fun ones was getting Massachusetts to change its Senator replacement laws when he thought Kerry would win the Presidency and Governor Romney would appoint a Republican replacement. He then fought to get them changed back later. Apparently he believes in the Will of the People so long as it helps Democrats.

Please, respond with more ad hominems - its always a good time.

    Death by Insanity Clauses
    Will Levine

So Billy, do you think we’ve heard enough about Michael Jackson’s death? I was 14 when JFK died; a bullet to the head sent the nation into mourning and I’ll never forget that walk home from school - Frankie Delaney and Joe Burns, (two of the toughest linebackers to play high school football on Long Island) broke down and cried. We knew about as much about politics as we did about ant farming, but it didn’t matter - we knew...yes, we knew deep down inside, in that place reserved for unfathomable grief, that we had lost much more than a president. We had lost a piece of ourselves and the beliefs (still not fully developed) that would guide us through the traumas and the triumphs of life.

Maybe we were the last of an endangered species, because we knew the difference between fame and greatness. We understood the transparency of celebrity and the substance of conviction and courage. Back then, the media seemed to be on the same page. John Lennon’s death was mourned and dissected at dinner parties...nowhere near as much was said about Martin Luther King but a helluva lot more was felt and the pain - well, it has a life of its own.
Michael Jackson was an extraordinary talent and it would have been good if that was the extent of his impact on society. His death was at best unfortunate...period. I am sickened by the idolatry. The collective liberal voice of America - the media, has placed him on a pedestal and they will keep him there until the revenues subside. I watch the worshippers on TV and I want to vomit. They say he was philanthropic. Is that because he shared his semen with 7 year-olds?

In the months to come, I will not be surprised to learn that his physician stands to gain from his patient’s death. I can see it in my mind’s eye.
“...and being of sound mind and body, I bequeath the entirety of my estate to my loyal and trusted physician...”

Jackson was as insane as they get. Does he deserve the ongoing grief, the inane celebration of his life and the simpering sensationalism fostered by a media collective devoid of values...the truth be damned? I shed no tears for this man/woman child. On June 6, 1973, I cried tears of joy when racehorse named Secretariat briefly captured the emotions of a country in turmoil, and I cried again when that beautiful animal passed away...God’s gift to a nation in need of a hero. Again we are a nation in turmoil. Is Michael Jackson’s memory comforting in any way at all? Hell no!
  • ReverndIdahoSpud
The media quickly falls back on first amendment rights whenever they want to protect their turf or promote agendas just as minority politciions scream racist when their affirmative action leadership bring resistance from constituents adverse to dead end alleyways.

First amendment rights are interpreted as protecting large corporations who buy ink in 55 gallon drums and paper by the railroad car. The first amendment is not an exclusive right for an exclusive few. It is as much a right of the people to receive information that is not presented with a twist or slant as to produce a specific outcome. It is a right of the people to not be fed misinformation, made up for the purpose leading to a particular end to by those who have the power and money to present their bias.

Since media has abondoned their moral responsibility to the public it was entrusted with they should be subject to an overhaul, restrictions, and makeover such as is being prescribed for another private sector, the healthcare industry. Lets officially have government take over media and eliminate the pseudo partnership that is in existance today. Instead of the fourth estate we can then refer to media officially as one of four branches of government.

If the public is to be duped and dumbed down to the point of near extinction then media should be recognized officially for what it is instead of what it pretends to be.

I know you are being fasicious. We dont need the government to officially take it over to know it is working for them. There are still a "few" honest media outlets out there, so lets keep government out of ALL businesses! We must keep educating those who arent interested in thinking for themselves. We cant stop now!!

"...so lets keep government out of ALL businesses!"

I wish you luck. Look at where our politicians came from, what they do in office, and where they go when they are done.
  • ds1
So does that mean ytoure giving up? I hope not! Thats what they want you to do. We are in a spiritual battle that we MUST win! This war isnt for wimps!! Either stand up and be counted or get out of the battle.

Never give up. We can never give up. This country is worth fighting for. Our power is the vote. It sucks that we have to go through so much crap to get there, but our power lies in the vote.

Im really, really curious to see what Mass does with the whole Kennedy seat thats open now.

First when Romney was governor and Kerry was running for president they made a law that Mass had to have a special election for an open seat (just in case Kerry won and Romney was going to assign the senate seat) Now they are trying to change that BACK to the governor gets to assign the seat! Why, theres a democrat in office now. Liberals, changing the law to fit their agenda. And not at all trying to hide what theyre doing! I cant BELIEVE the gaul of these people.

So, if they DO get to have the special election, everyone should watch closley because its going to set the tone. If Mass elects a republican.....

its spelled "gall" not "gaul." Gaul is ancient Germany. and I fail to see how impotently slapping keys at my desk will make America better. You kids are fooling yourselves to think any change will ever come from a retard blog.

With trillions of tax payer dollars unaccounted for, we have a president, congress, senate that should be impeached, just one cause, justifiable charge alone, treason against "we the people" ie; they have acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice, and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States."

Article 3 of the Constitution thus provides that treason shall consist only in levying war against the United States or in giving aid and comfort to its enemies and that conviction may be had only on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act or on confession in open court.

This president and the thugs he has employed in the white house, (whom by the way have not had any type of FBI clearance or vetting) not excluding the congress and senate, have committed high treason against the United States of America. There are countless videos and interviews with all of them, attacking citizens because we dare ask questions.

There is no one, except "we the people" who are demanding answers, not our elected officals.

No democrats, No republicans are protecting, much less fighting for, our rights.

The powerful elite who guaranteed Nerobamas presidency, to accomplish their socialistic/fascist/communist agenda, knew that if they put a radical, controversial, community organizer, with proven experience of activism, and a huge following of radical support and a person of color in the white house, fear from repercussions of riots, that would be unprecedented in our country, would ensue, and would seal the deal.

No one has the balls, except "we the people" to rise up and fight this hijacking of our nation.

"There is no one, except "we the people" who are demanding answers, not our elected officals"

There is one and his name is Ron Paul. Watch some of the videos of him grilling Bernanke.

Paul has been fighting this battle well longer than Ive been alive and people, I hope, are finally starting to listen. Over 300 cosponsors on H.R. 1207 which is the first powerful step to getting a Free Country back.

Other than that, theres a couple that "Arent as bad" but its complete rubbish making up our Government. No doubt. Has been that way for quite some time.

For example...distracting citizens from the obvious, Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday opened a preliminary investigation into whether some CIA operatives broke the law...And so.....when are our elected officials going to investigate Eric Holder and all of nerobamas czars?
Or Swastika bearing Pelosis charge regarding the CIA..when is she going to prove her allegations?

We already know that the main stream media is biased. We dont even need to question "why" they arent informing us of whats really happening. They wont.

We need answers to what is happening now. Who are all the criminals that are working for nerobama? Why are they allowed to write bills? Whos going to open investigations to the corruption in the white house?
  • paulblair
    "Swastika bearing Pelosi"

You conservatives are absolutely bat***t insane.

    Indeed, a nation of idiots.
