Conservative Blogger Wanted

November 30th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Unfortunately, life is way too busy for me right now and I need help with this blog. I am looking for someone (perhaps two people) to contribute to this blog once or twice per week. Of course, I do have some prerequisites before I bring anyone on board; and um, this would be on a volunteer basis.

Prerequisites the obvious

  • You have to have conservative values, obviously (no moderates or libertarians please)
  • You have to be up to speed with world events and news
  • You have to be able to offend liberals and not feel bad
  • You have to have the ability to write humorous posts, with good thought and reasoning
  • You have to be committed to responding to comments when needed without getting offended (allot of libs read this blog and post some derogatory stuff)

You can use your real name, fake name or whatever name you want; and if you have a website, all your postings can link to it if you want.

If you are interested, please leave a comment on this post and be sure to add your email address in the email field when you are submitting a comment (not in the comment field). I will follow up with you via email and ask for a few writing samples.

Top Democrat Ahmadinejad Writes Letter to the American People

November 29th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Today, Top Democrat (you will see what I mean later) and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written an open letter to us, the American people. I have quoted a few of his words and provided my responses accordingly.

Were we not faced with the activities of the US administration in this part of the world and the negative ramifications of those activities on the daily lives of our peoples, coupled with the many wars and calamities caused by the US administration as well as the tragic consequences of US interference in other countries?

Millions of people have been freed under the actions of the United States since WWII. No other nation can make this claim. Although we are not perfect and have made several mistakes in our infancy, we try and stand on the side of good. The actions of the U.S. are honorable. If not, why do so many flee your country (and every other country for that matter) and come to ours for freedom?

And if we did not share a common responsibility to promote and protect freedom and human dignity and integrity… Both our nations are God-fearing, truth loving and justice seeking, and both seek dignity, respect and perfection.

Huh? Why does your country vow the destruction of Israel if you fear God and promote peace!

Both greatly value and readily embrace the promotion of human ideals such as compassion, empathy, respect for the rights of human beings, securing justice and equity, and defending the innocent and the weak against oppressors and bullies. We are all inclined towards the good, and towards extending a helping hand to one another, particularly to those in need. We all deplore injustice, the trampling of peoples’ rights and the intimidation and humiliation of human beings.

So, how do you explain the treatment towards women in your own country?

Our nation has always extended its hand of friendship to all other nations of the world.

With the exception of Israel, of course.

We, like you, are aggrieved by the ever-worsening pain and misery of the Palestinian people. Persistent aggressions by the Zionists are making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine. In broad daylight, in front of cameras and before the eyes of the world, they are bombarding innocent defenseless civilians, bulldozing houses, firing machine guns at students in the streets and alleys, and subjecting their families to endless grief.

Rightful owners? It’s been Israel’s land since the beginning if time; and year after year they keep giving it to people that have no rightful ownership (Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Lebanon, etc). Oh, and you forgot to mention Israel’s strategy of suicide bombing.

Let’s take a look at Iraq . Since the commencement of the US military presence in Iraq , hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed, maimed or displaced. Terrorism in Iraq has grown exponentially.

Yes, you are right; killed by Iranian supported insurgents.

With the presence of the US military in Iraq , nothing has been done to rebuild the ruins, to restore the infrastructure or to alleviate poverty. The US Government used the pretext of the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq , but later it became clear that that was just a lie and a deception.

That is crap!!! There are tons of efforts going on right now to rebuild Iraq. Don’t even get me on the subject of WMDs. Try telling the families of the 100,000 Kurds that were killed with the WMDs by Saddam. It was the same WMDs that supposedly never existed.

You have certainly heard the sad stories of the Guantanamo and Abu-Ghraib prisons. The US administration attempts to justify them through its proclaimed “war on terror.” But every one knows that such behavior, in fact, offends global public opinion, exacerbates resentment and thereby spreads terrorism, and tarnishes the US image and its credibility among nations.

You must be referring to the Known mass-graves related to Abu Ghraib when Saddam was in power, right? Do you think the beheading of infidels offends the global community too?

The US administration’s illegal and immoral behavior is not even confined to outside its borders. You are witnessing daily that under the pretext of “the war on terror,” civil liberties in the United States are being increasingly curtailed. Even the privacy of individuals is fast losing its meaning. Judicial due process and fundamental rights are trampled upon. Private phones are tapped, suspects are arbitrarily arrested, sometimes beaten in the streets, or even shot to death.

Civil liberties??? I am laughing so hard right now? You are talking about civil liberties which you yourself don’t even adopt for your own people!!! Your regime severely limits freedom of speech and the press, cracking down on blogs and blocking access to many Internet sites. According to the State Department:

  • Citizens who peacefully exercise freedom of expression and voice opinions contrary to the regime’s, can be prosecuted for instigating crimes against the state.
  • Insulting Islam, as interpreted by the regime, can be punishable by death.
  • Journalists are often threatened, and many have been jailed. Imprisonment can involve torture or deplorable solitary confinement conditions.
  • During the past five years the regime closed more than 70 reformist newspapers and magazines sentencing many managers to jail.

Source to the State Department Website

I’d also like to say a word to the winners of the recent elections in the US :
The United States has had many administrations; some who have left a positive legacy, and others that are neither remembered fondly by the American people nor by other nations.
Now that you control an important branch of the US Government, you will also be held to account by the people and by history.

If the US Government meets the current domestic and external challenges with an approach based on truth and Justice, it can remedy some of the past afflictions and alleviate some of the global resentment and hatred of America . But if the approach remains the same, it would not be unexpected that the American people would similarly reject the new electoral winners, although the recent elections, rather than reflecting a victory, in reality point to the failure of the current administration’s policies.

And there you have it; an open letter not only to the American people but to his comrades in the democrat party. I assume that Bin Laden and other terrorist leaders are also happy that the democrats took control of the house and senate.

To Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, thank you for the suggestions on how we should run our country. Lord knows you do a much better job of this than we do. The millions of people you have suppressed and cut off from the real world is a great show of leadership.

Last question Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – would you allow President Bush to submit an open letter to the citizens in your country and get the same publication and broadcasting?

10 Reasons Why I Am Thankful and Irritated During this Thanksgiving Season

November 25th, 2006 Urban Conservative

As the 2006 Thanksgiving passes, I thought I would take this opportunity to list out 10 reasons why I am thankful and irritated during this season.

The GOOD list

  • I am thankful that I live in a country where I can freely worship a God I want to without being killed or decapitated.
  • I am thankful I live in a country where I can still say Merry Christmas in a retail store, and perhaps only offend just a few customers.
  • I am thankful that I can choose who to vote for without being coerced, threatened or killed. Of course, I get criticized all the time by libs that I interact with; but that’s a given living in Nancy Pelosi land.
  • I am thankful that I live in a country where I CAN vote.
  • I am thankful that I can assemble and protest (even though I don’t); I’ll leave that up to the libs; they do a pretty good job at it.
  • I am thankful that I don’t live in a country that’s terrorized by suicide bombers daily. Although, I am not totally convinced that my future grandchildren will be able to say the same thing when they grow up.
  • I am thankful to live in a country that has given me the opportunity to work hard, get an education (without the Government’s help) and provide for my children the things that I didn’t have when I was growing up.
  • I am thankful I live in a country where I can blog about the idiocies of the left and constantly poke fun at their insane actions and idealogy.
  • I am thankful that my daughter goes to a school that still recites the pledge of allegiance. If you don’t know it, you can learn it here.
  • I am thankful that only 60% of the US population actually vote. Too bad voters weren’t required to pass a litmus test before entering the poll booths.

The BAD List

  • I’m irritated that all my neighbors are uninformed liberals.
  • I’m irritated that Bush is soft on illegal immigration. I wish he would grow some cojones and start offending the left more often.
  • I’m irritated that the ACLU fights for everyone’s civil liberties except for Christians.
  • I’m irritated that the ACLU defends scumbags like NAMBLA. Next thing you know, they will make claim that the Megan’s Law website in California (and others like it) are unconstitutional.
  • I’m irritated that Sean Hannity is so PRO-REPUBLICAN. I do love Sean and agree with him 99% of the time but in his eyes, all republicans and the decisions they make are the right ones.
  • I’m irritated that most extreme liberals hate Jews and can’t even give a valid reason as to why. They support Palestine, Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations and believe that Israel is the one that should STOP the violence. The fact is that if all of Israel’s neighbors disarmed themselves, there would be peace in the Middle East. If Israel disarmed, there would be millions of murdered Jews.
  • I’m irritated that the mainstream media only focuses on the bad news in Iraq. The fact is that there is allot of good news that most people don’t see, hear or read about.
  • I’m irritated that the Niners still suck this year.
  • I’m irritated that it’s no longer Merry Christmas, but Happy Holidays. Another attempt by the left to be politically correct and not offend others. Remember, tolerance to all religions except Christianity is what is really going on. Even the liberal cable news station CNN reports that most Americans prefer to say Merry Christmas.
  • I’m irritated that Vanished is not airing the last three episodes on television. I’m seriously bummed about this one.

Okay, I am done complaining but feel free to add to either list. And, to any libs that are reading….Merry Christmas!!!

Indeed, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder

November 19th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Well, not really. For the most part, I’m joking. The idea that liberalism is a mental disorder was first coined by conservative talk show host Michael Savage in his first book the Savage Nation in 2003. It was then adopted by Ann Coulter in her latest book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, 2006.

Savage’s thesis for many of his books and daily topics is that liberalism and the idea that being “politically correct” is destroying our nation. He frequently identifies news stories that he claims are an assault on our borders, language and culture. I do agree with his analysis, but I don’t think that ALL liberals actually have a mental disorder. For the most part, many ordinary liberals (including myself when I was in my early twenties) just have a different world view (or perception) about the world they live in. They have unfortunately been spoon fed their liberal ideologies since birth, thanks to our educational systems and the media. These liberals really have no perspective of life outside their comfortable little suburban cities in San Francisco, Portland or New York. They have NO IDEA whatsoever of what goes on outside our borders; yet when they discuss politics, they all of sudden become experts in foreign policy.

The liberals that I believe have a mental disorder are the ones like George Soros who believe that drugs should be legalized; felons should be allowed to vote; and blames Israel for anti-Semitism around the world. Then there is extreme liberal Nancy Pelosi; well, no comment on her.

Any other victims of this horrible mental disorder that we need to be aware of?

More Examples of Uninformed Liberals

November 16th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Last week, I wrote a posting about the problems with uninformed liberals. The examples I gave were all based on personal experiences with various neighbors, friends, random people, etc. I just recently stumbled upon these pictures which clearly illustrate that these same liberals are not only uninformed, but flat out insane!

Clearly a problem when you drop out of high school. It’s actually spelled – you too.

Instead of attending these lame a$$ rallies, why don’t you get INFORMED (and learn how to spell while you are at it).

Huh? This makes no sense! This rally was an anti-Israel protest? You respect their religion? You think that chanting “death to Israel” is respecting their religion, culture, ancestry?

Clearly uninformed. Jews ARE NOT Nazis. In fact, it was the Nazis that killed close to 6 million Jews.

Florida More Dangerous than Iraq

November 14th, 2006 Urban Conservative

According to Australian Filmmaker George Gittoes, there is more violence in Miami, Florida than there is in Iraq. Gittoes’ latest documentary, Rampage, compares and contrasts life of an ordinary family living in the blue-collar community in Miami, with ongoing fighting in Iraq. Unfortunately, the main stream media (and libs in general) seem to overlook small facts like this when reporting the news; and constantly hammer us with 10 Marines Dead in Iraq or More Civilian Causalities in Iraq.

My favorite quote in the article is the following:

“Even left-wing Americans … don’t want to recognize the mess they’ve got in their own backyard,” he said.

This is sad, but true. Let’s take a deeper look at the data and you can make your own judgments. According to this Iraq Coalition Casualty Report, there have been 2,853 troops killed and confirmed by the DOD; and according to this left wing, anti-war website (numbers probably inflated but okay for this purpose), there have been between 47,000 and 52,000 civilians killed in Iraq. Total population in Iraq is 26,074,906.

Now for the numbers in Florida; the FBI Crime Lab reports the following data for 2005:

  • Violent Crime – 125,957
  • Murder/Manslaughter – 883
  • Rape – 6,592
  • Robbery – 30,141
  • Aggravated Assault – 88,341
  • Total Population of Florida – 17,789,864

So, there you have it. Based on the numbers, statistically, it is clearly more dangerous in Florida than it is in Iraq. And my question is, where is the public and media outcry? Why aren’t they featuring this on 60 Minutes or Dateline? I’ll tell you why and goes back to the quote from Gittoes, “Even left-wing Americans … don’t want to recognize the mess they’ve got in their own backyard”. Wake up America, let’s keep the war in Iraq in perspective.

What Nancy Pelosi Does Not Want You to Know

November 14th, 2006 Urban Conservative

I am sure most liberals outside of San Francisco have not heard of Nancy Pelosi. She is a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 8th district and most recently became the Speaker of the House when the dems took control Congress. Seems like we have another flip flopping, EXTREME liberal on our hands:

Back in 2002, Nancy Pelosi said in a press conference, We must stand together in a bipartisan way to fight the war against terrorism. Of course, when Clinton was in office, she supported military actions that resulted in major civilian deaths in Haiti, Kosovo, and Bosnia, yet she has publicly denounced both wars in Iraq. Pelosi has also opposed President Bush on most issues relating to Homeland Security. What’s even scarier is that she recently joined the ACLU’s crusade to limit the powers of the Patriot Act.

Pelosi’s voting record is insane. She has voted against school vouchers (which would allow for low-income families to send their children to private schools – on grounds that some of those schools teach religion). She voted “YES” on funding for alternative sentencing instead of more prisons; voted “YES” on replacing the death penalty with life imprisonment; and sought to place a moratorium on the death penalty altogether. Here is more comprehensive list of Pelosi’s voting record (source: Human Events):

  • Cutting Intelligence $500 million FOR
  • $87 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan operations AGAINST
  • Patriot Act AGAINST
  • Arming Pilots Against Terrorism Act AGAINST

So much for fighting the war on terror, flip flopper!

  • Bush Income Tax Cuts AGAINST
  • Eliminating Marriage Penalty AGAINST
  • Capital Gains and Dividends Tax Cuts AGAINST
  • Permanent Increased Child Tax Credit AGAINST
  • Abolishing the Death Tax AGAINST
  • Clinton Energy Tax FOR
  • Allowing New Oil Refineries AGAINST
  • Oil Drilling in ANWR AGAINST
  • Partial-Birth Abortion Ban AGAINST
  • Federal Marriage Amendment AGAINST
  • Limiting Federal Courts’ Jurisdiction on Defense of Marriage Act AGAINST
  • Sensenbrenner Border Protection and Illegal Immigration Bill AGAINST
  • 700 Miles of Fence on Mexican Border AGAINST

It’s clear from her voting record that Nancy Pelosi’s world view is so out of whack that she makes Ted Kennedy look like a conservative. God help us, we are in big trouble.

What Do Conservatives and Snoop Dog Have in Common?

November 14th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Other than the fact that I am a conservative and I listen to Snoop at times, nothing at all. Most of the time, I listen to hip hop when I am at the gym trying to get my work out on or when I go for a run around my neighborhood. There is something about hip hop that gets me motivated to work out harder. In fact, I grew up on the other side of the train tracks and hip hop was a huge part of my culture. The point of this post (and believe me, there is a point) is to dismantle the perception that all conservatives resemble what is currently in the White House today. No offense to the leadership in the White House, but can you imagine New Gingrich or Condi Rice listening to Snoop while on the treadmill?

The fact of the matter is that conservatives come in all shapes, sizes and colors; and not all conservatives were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I worked hard and sacrificed allot for the things that I have today. No help from the government; no extra points when I applied for grad school because I am a minority; no extra consideration for a job for the same reason; and no rich parents that could afford to send me to Stanford. It was hard work, blood sweat tears, encouragement from my mother and the grace of God. So, for all those UNINFORMED liberals that think that all conservatives are white and upper class, think again.

How About We Throw All Christians, Muslims, and Hindus in Prison?

November 13th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Below is an excerpt from an interview on November 11, 2006 with the Press Association and Elton John.

He said there was a lack of religious leadership, particularly in world politics, and complained that people do not take to the streets to protest any more.

Sir Elton said: “I think religion has always tried to turn hatred towards gay people. Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays.

“Organized religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.”

C’mon Elton, just because a group of people don’t agree with your lifestyle, you want to ban everything they believe in? What happened to tolerance? You libs always talk about tolerance, yet you don’t have any tolerance yourself. It is and always has been a double standard. Forget banning, how about locking all Christians, Muslims, Hindus, etc. in prison. I am sure that is legislation that you would vote for.

You say there is a lack of religious leadership, yet you want to ban religion. Which one is it? Are you for the $87 billion or are you against it? Take a position and stand up for it!

No, religion does not promote hatred against gays. Of course, in some Islamic countries you can get your head cut off for a variety of different reasons (i.e. if you are gay, practice another religion, if a woman exposes her face to another man) and the list goes on. You are generalizing all religions. That is like me saying that all liberals are anti-christian. Of course, many of them are but not all of them.

I do have to agree with you that sometimes people can misinterpret religion and perform heinous acts in the name of religion (i.e. Al Qaeda, KKK, those who kill abortion doctors); but in the broad scope of things, these random acts of violence are in the minority.

It seems to me like you are just another one of those UNINFORMED liberals.

If there is one thing that Liberals are good at, it’s protesting

November 12th, 2006 Urban Conservative

Some of my very good friends and family members are liberal and we get along just fine, assuming we don’t talk about politics or religion. In fact, I really admire them for their sincere and unwavering belief system (regardless of how insane those beliefs may be). On the other hand, my conservative friends think they are uninformed, hard-headed and even unreasonable. And, in many cases, depending on the particular individual all three may be true.

As individuals, my liberal friends possess several positive qualities like being good parents, law abiding citizens and possess the most basic moral principles like kindness and integrity. But as a group, the one thing that separates them from conservatives is their great ability to protest; and I admire them for that. If conservatives could protest half as good as libs, we would be winning allot more elections.

The great protester Cindy Sheehan.

Our friends in the UK.

The crazy a!# libs in San Francisco.

More libs in San Francisco.

Off to jail Cindy.
