Romney Supporters: Congrats on the Nevada Landslide Win!

January 22nd, 2008 LAConservative

LAConservativeWe believed in Mitt and Mitt delivered again! (How was it that Ron Paul spanked McCain, Huck, Thompson and Giuliani? Now, how about some more straight talk?  Lets dispel some myths, shall we?

MYTH:  NV is not as important a state as SC.
FACT:  Nevada is infinitely more important, as it is a crucial “purple” swing state in the general election, whereas SC is a solid red state.  The GOP nominee who wins SC will carry SC in the general election no matter what, whereas it takes a STRONG Nevada player to influence that state’s leaning in the generals.  That would be Mitt Romney.  If you believe NV has no significance, than deductively, you do not believe FL will be significant in the primaries, either.

MYTH:  Fred Thompson will endorse John McCain if he drops out.
FACT:  It frankly does not matter whom Fred Thompson endorses.  I personally can’t wait for Fred to drop out, as Romney will pick up votes because they share an overlapping voting bloc.  It will help Romney if Fred endorses McCain.  Thompson’s voters despise McCain; an endorsement would further propel the voters toward Romney.

LAConservativeA Congratulatory Letter to Fellow “Rombots” after Mitt Romney’s Resounding Michigan Win

We stood united in our beliefs because we know there is no substitute for being on the RIGHT side of issues.

We ignored the naysayers, the drive-by’s, the mainstream media (MSM), the Politico, the hacks who are sorry excuses for journalists…because we stood firm in our convictions and had the courage to stand up for what is right.

We stood firm in our convictions because we know there is no refuting talent, achievement, reason, dignity, and justice.

The Importance of Social Issues when selecting a Presidential candidate

January 7th, 2008 Urban Conservative

In my opinion, there will never be a perfect conservative candidate in any election.  When making a selection on the ballot, one must decide which candidate is closely aligned with his/her value system. As we embark on the 2008 Presidential Primaries, many issues have been raised about each of the Republican candidates; some which may vary on your degree of importance depending on your values.  Here are a few that come to mind:

A Sad Day for Conservatives

January 3rd, 2008 LAConservative

LAConservativeMitt Romney fell victim to religious bigotry tonight in Iowa.  I am sad…very, very sad, that the Iowan evangelicals took orders from their church leaders and came out in droves—twice as many as eight years ago—in support of Huckabee.  They fell right into the trap of the left wing media, who want Huckabee to take the republican nomination.  Their ignorance is surpassed only by their loathing of Mormons.  Iowans came out to vote for a spiritual leader, not a leader of the free world.  What happens from here will be critical—for if the republicans lose the presidency in ’08 to the democrats, the loss will have been deserving.

Race for 2008: The Case for Mitt Romney

January 2nd, 2008 LAConservative

LAConservativeAhead of the first caucuses and primaries, I hope to bring more awareness—especially among those who may not closely follow presidential politics—to the candidacy of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, a terrific man who boasts an impressive resume in his record of achievement in business and government.  Yes, he looks presidential, but rest assured I was not deluded by his appearance.  As my ultimate mission is to win votes for Gov. Romney, to the intellectually dishonest detractors who have reached judgment before rational analysis, I say: You’re dismissed.  I’m reaching out not to you, the ideologically imbued few who vote only along party lines, but to likely voters for whom logic and reason are within grasp.

National Review endorses Mitt Romney

December 11th, 2007 Urban Conservative

Mitt Romney

It’s official. Today, the National Review announced their support for Mitt Romney to run for President for the following reasons:

  • he is a is a full-spectrum conservative
  • he is a supporter of free-market economics and limited government
  • he supports right to life and the preservation of marriage
  • he maintains a foreign policy based on the national interest

The article clearly articulates why they are endorsing Mitt over other Republican candidates, specifically Huckabee, McCain, Giuliani and Thompson and state the following:

Romney is an intelligent, articulate, and accomplished former businessman and governor. At a time when voters yearn for competence and have soured on Washington because too often the Bush administration has not demonstrated it, Romney offers proven executive skill. He has demonstrated it in everything he has done in his professional life, and his tightly organized, disciplined campaign is no exception. He himself has shown impressive focus and energy.
