Novel Idea: Let’s let the homeless in America decide who will be the next President

October 7th, 2008 Urban Conservative

In Cleveland, Ohio a volunteer group supporting Obama picked up hundreds of homeless people at shelters, soup kitchens and drug-rehab centers and drove them to a polling house yesterday on the last day that folks in Ohio could register and vote on the same day, with almost no questions asked.

One convicted felon noted, “I never voted before, without this service, I would have had no way to get here.”

Every decent law abiding citizen in this country — democrat or republican — should be angry and ashamed of this vile attempt to gain votes, however insignificant the number really is. The law against registering and voting the same day was on the books in Ohio, yet the democratic controlled court made this determination because they are — of course in bed with their political party. Yet another example of how democrats put their party before their country.

Sure, these people can vote for their candidate when they are in the booth, but there’s nothing preventing the fraud of voting in multiple locations. Is one homeless guy who’s bought off for a box of smokes or a six pack of beer worth 3 or 4 of your informed votes?

Let’s not only exploit the children in this country but also the homeless. Who’s next, the mentally disabled?

US Marine in Haditha might sue John Murtha over smear campaign

June 19th, 2008 Urban Conservative

John Murtha will soon be eating his own words and forking out some cash, hopefully.

If you remember, back in 2005, there was an investigation into the tragic death of civilians in the Iraqi city of Haditha.  Apparently, there was supposed to be compelling evidence that proved that U.S. Marines “killed innocent civilians in cold blood,” according to former Marine and Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa. He even claimed that there was a Military cover up; and was extremely vocal with his blasphemous statements.

He was wrong according to the video presented as evidence at a hearing for Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani who was charged; and on Tuesday, a U.S. Military Judge tossed out the charges against him.

In an interview with nationally syndicated conservative radio talk host Michael Savage, the attorney for Lt. Col. Chessani said he and his client are looking into suing Murtha and the Time magazine reporter, Tim McGuirk, who first published the accusations by Iraqi insurgents.

We will see what happens.

The Wings Have Lost Their Nuts (And Bolts), Indeed

February 4th, 2008 Billy Hallowell

weapons of mass destructionThe American ultra-left has an array of despicable tendencies.  And while I would be elated to provide an alphabetical list of the damaging ideals held by this portion of society, I will compose myself and limit my rant to one attribute: The ultra-left’s unwillingness to back the American government – even when it becomes painfully obvious that our officials are correct in their assertions – and even when millions of American lives are at stake.

We’ve been in a sociopolitical civil war since the Iraq war broke out in 2003; the world has been embroiled in debate over U.S. motives for invasion, George W. Bush’s alleged lackluster decisions, and the plethora of American policy decisions that have colored our world since September 11, 2001.

Iraq: A Surge to Success?

January 22nd, 2008 Billy Hallowell

Iraq

Ironically, CNN broke down on January 11, 2007, when it published a piece entitled, “Speeding, motorcycles, wheelies provide war relief.  I was beginning to feel alone in my informed understanding that the War in Iraq has taken a turn for the better.  And since the media tend to mention it only when death and destruction are occurring, seeing an uplifting story about the conditions under U.S. operations in Iraq was more than intriguing.

The better security can be attributed to many factors: the U.S.-led surge that has put more troops across Baghdad and clamped down on insurgents; better-trained Iraqi security forces who guard more checkpoints; and the establishment of predominantly Sunni “Awakening Councils, often made up of former militants, aimed at going after al Qaeda.

2007 Iraq Coverage: An Overview

January 9th, 2008 Billy Hallowell

While browsing the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism web site today, I stumbled upon a December 2007 study entitled, “The Portrait from Iraq: How the Press Has Covered Events on the Ground.  Before continuing, it is important that I note that I am an avid fan of the Project for Excellence.  The institution’s work is paramount to public understanding of and about the inner workings and outer affects of mainstream media coverage.

Pessimism of the Democratic Party

December 24th, 2007 Urban Conservative

Senate Majority Leader Harry ReidPessimism and flip flopping seem to be a common theme in the Democratic Party; but what else is new?  One minute they support the war, then they are against the war…and then they were never supportive of going to war blah blah blah.  Same story with most if not all the democrats on Capitol Hill.  First there is Murtha who was originally against the surge in Iraq now claims that it is working. Then, late last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who has been documented as saying “This was is lost, has now changed his position claiming there is significant progress being made in Iraq.

I Was Against the Surge, before I Was For the Surge

November 30th, 2007 Urban Conservative

Yes indeed; it was once said that it must be a cold day in hell. Once again, liberal scum John Murtha has changed his position about the recent surge in Iraq. With all do respect to the former Marine; because I also served 8 years in the Corps — how can anyone be proud to be a democrat with this type of leadership in office. This idiot even tried to stop the surge back in February.

“There is no way the surge will work.” John Murtha, March 2007
“I think the surge is working.” John Murtha, November, 2007

Mark Cuban calls Bill O’Reilly a moron at BlogWorld

November 9th, 2007 Urban Conservative

The closing keynote speaker at BlogWorld was Mark Cuban. He was speaking to the audience about his blog; and how important it is to share ideas, thoughts, etc. with his readers. He then went on a rant about how others in the media attack him and call him names; and then went to say how important it is not to respond. He then called Mr. Bill O’Reilly a Moron for his comments about Cuban, who financially backed the controversial film “Redactedâ€? which is story about the war in Iraq that depicts the real-life rape and killing of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl by U.S. soldiers. And of course…the crowd erupted in applause.

Imagine a World without Liberals

August 7th, 2007 Urban Conservative

A few weeks ago, I created a profile on Myspace and posted some of my more controversial blogs there in order to gain more traffic and readership to this blog. While it’s not the most effective media channel for driving web traffic, I have had the pleasure of meeting some fellow conservative bloggers that have some really great (and hilarious) things to say.

One such blogger was a 19 year old female who goes by the name of the Bulgarian Queen. Don’t be fooled by her Shakira background on her profile; she is quite the bulldog and will eat you liberals for breakfast. She posted a similar post to the following a few weeks ago which became my inspiration for writing this.

Now sit back, close your eyes and imagine a World without Liberals! There would be:

  • No more spineless, moronic Ron Paul Myspace bloggers that vomit out garbage about his ”real character.” Yes indeed, there are several Ron Paul supporters on Myspace.  I don’t really have anything against Ron Paul.  He is a decent individual with the exception of his statement about 9/11 coming to us and the fact that he voted against legislation to help catch online predators. Well, actually I change my mind. He is a spineless-liberal-no-balls-havin moron and his voting record explains it all.
  • No more Al Gore-worshipping-tree-hugging-animal-loving-global-warming-the-world-is-ending loonies refusing to drill for oil in Alaska because it would disturb the wildlife. ‘Nuff said about this.
  • No more Bush-bashing-Cheney-hating-troop-denigrating-cindy-sheehan-loving-ungroomed-facial-hair-having freakazoids that believe that it’s in our best interest to pull out of Iraq because war solves nothing. And these are the same people who have NEVER served a day in the US Armed Forces; yet they are suddenly experts in foreign policy. Hmmm, Sean Penn comes to mind right about now.
  • No more hypocritical-claim-to-be-Christ-loving-I-am-always-a-victim reverends like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton attacking people like Don Imus for his statements, yet are completely mute when well-known hip-hop artists promote gang violence, drug dealing and rap about bitches and hoes.
  • No more goofy-looking-menopausal-cindy-sheehan-loving-anti-war-anti-israel-terrorist-loving Hollywood types protesting just for the sake of protesting.
  • No more money-wasting-perpetrating-wealthy-ass politicians who spend hundreds of dollars on a haircut yet claim that it’s in their best interest to help the poor.
  • No more traitorous-socialist-behavior-likes-to-have-it-both-ways-flip-flopping senators that claim to be for the people by supporting unions, when in fact she (Pelosi) owns several NON UNION vineyards and restaurants all throughout California. And, who is itching to rebel against the president and slapping Americans in the face by visiting a terrorist country and having peace talks while wearing a Hijab (head scarf).

This, my friends-family-and-liberals-who-lurk-around-this-site, would be a perfect world. Then again, a world without liberals would be quite boring, as I would have nothing to write about it in this blog. I am actually glad that liberals exist and I enjoy reading their nonsense. I compare it to watching the Jerry Springer show because it reminds me that my life isn’t really all that bad.

Peace out my bretheren…oh, and long live Israel.

Terrorism: Are we safer today than we were with Clinton?

July 25th, 2007 Urban Conservative

“You, senator, I know, were the only person that I know of who suggested declaring war. In retrospect, you were probably right.” Source.

Those were the exact words of former secretary of state Madeleine Albright, during the 9/11 commission hearings, after being questioned by commissioner and former Sen. Bob Kerrey about the Clinton administration’s lackadaisical response to the terrorism against the U.S. that occurred from 1993 to 2000.

You see, back then if I remember correctly, Albright was talking tough like she was actually going to handle business and take on terrorism head on. So was her heroic boss, Clinton. However, if I remember right, it actually took Clinton some time to master the tough guy approach to terrorism. In the beginning, he was pretty soft, well…very soft. And, of course, he never really dealt with the problem.

For example, after the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 Clinton urged us not to overreact, and, in an interview on MTV, described the bombing as the work of someone who “did something really stupid.” That’s not exactly tough talk. Source.

Terrorism continued.

Then he got bold. After the attack on the Khobar Towers barracks in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, he said “The cowards who committed this murderous act must not go unpunished.” Source.

Terrorism continued.

He then got his rhetoric right (no pun intended) the time of the embassy attacks. “We will use all the means at our disposal to bring those responsible to justice, no matter what or how long it takes,” he said. “We are determined to get answers and justice.” Source.

Terrorism continued.

By October 2000, when al Qaeda bombed the USS Cole, Clinton had the routine down perfectly. “We will find out who was responsible and hold them accountable,” he said. Source.

Terrorism continued.

The fact of the matter is that Clinton is responsible for doing too little about terrorism during his eight years in office, in which there were several attacks against the U.S. Here is a quick recap of the terrorist attacks during his reign:

  • 1993 World Trade Center bombing - killed six and injured 1,000.
  • 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia - killed five soldiers.
  • 1996 al-Khobar towers bombing in Saudi Arabia - killed 19 and injured 200 soldiers.
  • 1998 bombing of US embassies in Africa - killed 257 and injured 5,000.
  • 2000 bombing of the USS Cole - killed 17 and injured 3 sailors.

And the Bush Administration…

  • 2001 World Trade Center bombing (all planned during the Clinton Administration) – killed 3,000 + innocent people.

And, what did Bush do? He is dealing with terrorism despite being scrutinized by the main stream media; and if that means occupying Iraq than so be it.  While I am no Bush apologist and am very critical of some of his policies (immigration, border security), I can truly say with confidence that we are safer today than we were with Clinton.

And I still don’t understand why uninformed liberals actually believe that Bush caused 9/11 to happen; that his foreign policy while in office for 8 months caused this cowardly act.
